    same shit as everyone else
My honda accord ticked really bad. I did a valve spacing check on it and still had the same problem. So i busted out a stethoscope and found a fuel injector was to blame. I changed it out and tick went away or at least back down to where it should be. As for my taco, its always ticked. I can only hear it though when the engine noise bounces off a wall. I don't see it causing any harm to be honest. Lets me know my truck is still running the same it was at mile 0.

my 2011 ticked the day I drove it off the lot. Never really paid any mind to it but it seems really loud since the weather is colder. It ticks outside inside and under acceleration it gets real loud. I am going to run it by the dealer because it sounds like an exhaust leak on the driver side manifold but not sure if thats it or just something the truck does.

Yeah... I think that will clear up lots of matters. Made a recording with my cheap cell phone and it will server it's purpose but in person is the best way to really hear. Let me get that loaded soon.

Beware.... There are plenty of people here that will claim you have a hearing problem if you Tacoma does not tick. Hells Bells, I can hear mine from 20 to 30 feet away.... tick, tick, tick, tick. Louder than any normal engine I've heard

Mine ticks when it's warm. I can hear it from 20-30 feet away. I can hear it under acceleration.

    15,000 miles and going.

It bothers me some but I don't really worry about it.

Most all Toyotas tick, not all of them but most of them do. My 93 ticks, my brothers 95 4runner ticks, my dads 88 pickup ticks, and my dads 01 Tacoma ticks. Around here people call it the Toyota Tick.

I dropped off my 2006 double cab at my local dealer to get TSB - exhaust ticking/tapping noise. EG021-06 APR 06 Exhaust System - Ticking Noise Between 2,000-2,500 RPM

I was looking at the order, just for parts alone they are charging Toyota about 1700 and they provided a rental car!! I am picking the truck up tomorrow hopefully the ticking is a little better!!!

UPDATE: I just picked it up, they replaces manifolds and gaskets - ticking has gone down a lot!! There is a tiny tick, but greatly improved. I am very happy!

what weight oil are you using? what engine? I have a 2011 / 2.7 liter / four cylinder and use 5w 30 mobli one, and have no tick, at least not one from the valves, maybe you are hearing the egr valve doing it's job.
