Not accurate, especially if you have added a bunch of stuff to the truck

You should stop hopping on the internet and speaking to topics that you have no personal experience with...

ABS was never intended to decrease stopping distance. It was intended to allow steering control during a skid situation. In order to retain steering control the wheels need to be spinning, hence the "pulsing".

Yes the stopping distance increases but you can still steer around what ever is in front of you. If the wheels are locked up, forget about steering, you're basically ice skating on 4 rubber pads at that point.

Keep in mind its more for highway use too. Offroad/low speeds are a totally different scenario and i agree there are times when it hurts more than helps.

He's talking about how most people cruise around with an unloaded bed. If you can lock up the rears the drums are plenty strong.

I’d love rear disk brakes. Went through a couple deep mud and water holes today and later in the afternoon my E brake seized up my RR tire so hard it wouldn’t turn in 4 low 1st gear. Had to take the tire off and beat on the drum with my receiver hitch to free it up. NOT cool.

While you guys are comparing disk and drum,
@jberry813 did a disk conversion with big break kit on front and rear.

Hey look at that, we're both in San Diego county!

I'll take that bet sir! You leave the stock MC and booster on and add rear disc brakes, I'll leave mine the way it is, we can have a little friendly competition between our trucks brakes, what say you?

I’m not grumpy! Just literate. You don’t want that brake too loose to lose traction and break free.

I've never seen a leaf spring like that on a truck. Do you have axle wrap problems? I can't imagine that you would but it looks so thin...
