Stock AF. My 68 Bronco and 2000 2.5RS get the mods.
Talk to every dealer you have the willingness to buy from, texts screenshots back and forth and see who goes the lowest. Almost 10% off msrp on my ordered truck was close enough for me. Good, local dealer too. Good luck!

Dealers want to sell what's on their lot. Get in touch with their "internet sales manager". Most dealers have them now. These folks are more than willing to search inventory anywhere within a reasonable distance. Since you do it via text and email you get less BS, for the most part. One thing I've noticed. These days dealers want to stay closer to the MSRP than decades ago. Either folks are willing to pay MSRP, or it is now closer to what the dealer actually pays (actually that's an interesting question).

Remember there are four prices. Dealer cost, MSRP, what the dealer will really sell it for, and what you are willing to pay.

Was the 10% in addition to the Toyota Cash Rebate ($1750?) or did you do the 0% financing option?

Dang seeing the invoice they really don't give them a wide margin of markup do they? I used to think they were just being butts about it but approx. 3k isn't a huge markup at all

Agreed. The margin on new vehicles isn't wide at all compared to some other retail industries.

Buying at the end of the month can help if they are trying to hit a quota (several manufacturers incentivize the dealership as a whole for X number of units moved monthly/annually). If you are willing to buy a nearly new truck, you can save quite a bit of money; something like a demo or dealer used one.

Since you are in the Bay area, it might be worth checking out Kendall Toyota in Bend OR. In the main "What are you paying" thread, a few buyers have negotiated some pretty good numbers from them and they have 3 manuals online. I'm also in NorCal and wished I would of included them when I was searching for my Tacoma.

Check out Toyota101 in redwood city. When I bought mine last year they gave roughly 10% of MSRP before the rebate.

have you tried going to Costo auto buying program? I ws able to get a 2020 TRD Off Road 2x4 MSRP was $34K plus and I was to able to get it OTD for $34,382. I think I got a good deal without haggling since Costo Auto Buying Program is fixed.

You will get your best discount buying a truck off a dealer's lot (-10%>15%). Requiring a manual trans will reduce your bargaining power and cut into your discount quite a bit. Search the Internet to find a dealer who has what you want and call their internet sales person. Tell them what you will pay (be reasonable) an walk away if they don't accept it. I've traveled to purchase vehicles many times and have always saved money.
    Good luck!
