Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the help over the last couple days.
Sending my ECU to @JustDSM tomorrow and calling muffler shops.
Looks like the ECU comes out easy.

That's actually a decent amount of restriction. I had no idea they were THAT restrictive.

We are dealing with California here. The problem is you gotta play within their rules but you still want maximum performance, so it's all about finding happy mediums which are loopholes as well. I have an idea I'm concocting up to avoid full exhaust manifold replacement to go headers, but I'm not sure if it legally will work.

I would love to go equal length y pipe, but we are still talking welding involved to put the factory cats back on and that gets messy as a whole and is also out of my reach distance-wise. I wish Roost was local to me, but he is states and states away so that makes this whole thing a bit infeasible for my daily.

Simply adding the factory cats to the URD headers is just as big of red flag as replacing the factory manifolds. There are options out there that don't include putting a ref's lively hood in jeopardy.

not equal length but how about just gutting the cats in a set of stock manifolds?

The expansion and cooling if gases going into that large area of the gutted cats may cause a flow issue.

I guess anything is possible but a lot of work for the cali life. Perhaps straight pipe through a factory cat. I may bet getting my hands on a set and see what I can do.

That's because URD headers are illegal as they don't have an EO # anyways.

I got one better. A boost activated bypass which deviates from the cat which goes back into the piping right after the cat. ;)

    That's the ONLY way I roll. ;)

That defeats the cats and gives you a "mild to wild" sound as soon as you start hitting boost. ;)

Take a look at the image I edited into my post above. It does exist. You could tap into it right from the rear boost port too with a Y. :D

flaps like that are also illegal in california lol. And if they see that they are gonna know whats up. You would be better off just gutting your cats lol

I feel like a few of us comifornia guys need to find a way to get a hold of some scrap manifolds for "testing purposes" .

That's what I'm worried about, but gutting cats leaves a DISGUSTING smell at idle and even if the tech is inspecting an undercover gutted catless vehicle, they'll know what's up as well. That shit stinks. Hahaha.

Someone is selling some manifolds from what I remember. I almost grabbed them from him so I could steal the cats off the manifolds but I figured, for what.

I ran long tubes for a while with the secondary cats, I was amazed on how much they did. Now, I did not get emissions done, but smell. I did not notice a difference.
Now that said I live I Bakersfield, we can cut our air quality with a knife.o_O
