I won’t say that a 26” XC is incapable in Pisgah. But you know what they say: Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.

Yep, cool guy, that was the first time I'd met him but I enjoyed riding with him. He still does some stuff in Charlotte I think, he just put up a video of a local trail anyway.

Here's the link to the campsite we used last year. I thought it was pretty decent and close enough to just about everything. We booked the entire site for two nights, and it only cost about $20 per person. It can probably accommodate a good 10-15 trucks if the group ever gets larger. The host was also really easy to work with through texts and emails when arranging everything and reserving the entire site. A little tricky to find in the dark using google maps to navigate, but not impossible...lol

I'm leaving on a cross-country trip at the end of June, so I can't make it this time. I definitely wouldn't mind another September outing, though, if anyone wants to head out a second time at the end of the summer.

Have a blast and stay safe!

I contacted her this morning, I thought it was a great spot, and close to everything.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Things always looks less steep in the camera!

For sure. If you sit close enough to a big enough screen you can kind of get a feel for it, but not really.

Don’t kill me. I’m gonna do my best to improve my cardio before this trip because I know you’ll all smoke me...

Favorite mountain bike trip ever was at Winter Park in the summer . I don’t think I had to pedal uphill once. Just ride downhill and then take the lift back up!

Working on cardio is highly recommended, as you will definitely have to earn most of the downhills at Dupont, Bent Creek, and Black Mountain.

Nobody will be left behind, though, so don't stress about it. Everyone who went last year was pretty chill like that.

I won’t feel bad if I do. I know I’m slow and hold folks back but I do my best to hold my own going downhill haha
