I believe it’s held on by two 10mm bolts. They can get pretty rusty so hitting them with the penetrating oil of your preference couldn’t hurt.

I've made a pdf with a nicer layout and formatting of this reference post. I'm hoping to have some of you check it for me. When it's finalized, I'll add it to the original post at the top.

    Is any info missing?
    Any info incorrect?
Anything else need to be added?
Should I add a column for video links?

I've tried to keep the number of maintenance items in the list relatively low, so that when printed, it will fit inside the glove box and/or be about the same size as the Owner's Manual.

These links will download the pdf from my personal google drive:

If you use chrome, it will open the pdfs in the browser first so you can view them, without downloading.

    Online version (with how-to links):

2nd Gen Tacoma Quick Ref Guide PDF

    Print version (no links):

Thank you for organizing this, OP! I finally decided to replace the PCV, cleaned the MAF Sensor and Throttle Body.

PCV: Mine was on pretty fuckin good. I was in the arm wrestling position due to the awkward angle. I didn’t have a 6 point 19mm deep socket somehow, but I had a 3/4” which was just about identical in fitment. That link states that it is possible to just clean the PCV but easier to replace and it only costs $4.65 + shipping from McGeorge Toyota Parts. It also stated that if it rattles when shaken, it’s still good and may be re-used. My old one did so I might just clean it up and re-use it next time. “Might” though, I tend to like replacing with new parts lol.

MAF Sensor: I didn’t see that my dealer cleaned this sensor during any services but then I have a tendency to skim lol. It didn’t look dirty to me but idk how bad it’s suppose to look. I sprayed it anyway and let it sit out while I cleaned the Throttle Body. Had an “Oh Shit” moment and dropped one of the small Philips screws upon plugging it back onto the housing. Thankfully it fell through everything and landed on my skid plate.

Throttle Body: The front didn’t look bad, but holy shit, when I removed it from the black housing I saw all the gunk and grime on the backside of it. It took a lot of spraying and brushing/wiping with a rag.

The link to the Throttle Body showed him tying the air intake and MAF housing to the antenna. I didn’t feel like doing that and instead removed the tubing from the intake since it was fairly simple, set the intake aside then used a mallet just to prop up the MAF housing. Felt more stable without stressing anything.

I’ll go ahead and split my novel into those links accordingly

Anyone else get a different smell coming from the exhaust? When I test drove it after cleaning the MAF sensor, throttle body and replacing the PCV valve, I did get the high idle everyone mentions which of course mellows out after a while. I didn’t notice the smell from the exhaust but the last couple times I had the engine running and warming up a bit while I’m outside the truck, there’s a certain scent that I unfortunately can’t quite describe. There’s no smoke coming out from the exhaust, no odd noises, no shakes while idling, throttle response did slightly improve. I did disconnect the negative terminal from the battery while doing the MAF sensor and throttle body. I figured that would have somewhat reset the ECU? Is it just the leftover cleaner and carbon burning off? I forget what the cleaners smell like lol

Totally forgot to update this. It was a false alarm, I was over at my stepdad’s place at the time and he had some type of gasoline in a bucket outside the garage with the breeze conveniently blowing in my direction

No, not a dedicated spreadsheet. A lot is fairy similar, but there are small changes with some intervals/tools. I started one for the 2.7, but I will take me some time to update it and make small changes

This thread was indispensable in creating my own maintenance schedule, which I tweaked to suit my truck and planned modifications. The left half of the page is the "master list" of tasks, while the right is a tracker from purchase mileage (30,708) all the way up to my desired final mileage (500,000). I have price estimates for parts only as well as parts + labor, if for no other reason than to coerce myself into performing my own maintenance:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GUFg6JH4Ayv3EQMz6kuAnRSDwUOJWXfw/view

I have assigned all tasks a mileage interval instead of a time interval. My assumption is that I'll drive about 18k miles a year, so I split everything accordingly. This won't work too well if your annual mileage is significantly different, so some modification will likely be required if others want to use my template.

There are some oddities in there, like checking the torque on the UCA nut (which is only needed for SPC UCAs) and greasing the leaf packs (only possible with greasable bolts). Since I have these things, I thought it wise to add them so I don't forget.

I have a binder where I'm keeping a printout of this document as well as instructions on how to perform required maintenance. The "Enclosures" mentioned consist of these instructions, and were sourced from the OP (thanks again @BlackBeerd) as well as DIY instructions from Paul's Travel Pictures:
    https://www.paulstravelpictures.com...Common-Problems-Repair-Maintenance-Guides.htm
