I don't know how I'd feel about sleeping in that. I think it'd be better on a taller rack so you can more center it on the bars.

Yeah, I had the same concern. Talked to CB Adventure Supply in Texas who we bought it from. Said that these things are built very sturdy and it shouldn’t be a problem but I still want to get that tail end supported a little better. If I go can height rack I can shift it over the cab slightly and get a better center.

I was more so concerned about the bed rails/bars than the tent itself.

You know, I did t even consider those bed bars. Good point. Probably a good bit of stress on that first one possibly?

Both of em really. If you were in the end of the tent, that's kinda a long lever arm pushing down on the back bar and pulling up on the front bar.

Couple days ago I got a bed rack off Craigslist, today I found an unopened set of Rago bed stiffeners for $60!

Again, very good point. I hate to trailer it, but this is where I wish I had the double cab Taco or a bed rack. I’m leaning towards the KB Voodoo Max. Prob go with 58” to get the full bed coverage. Just trying to decide on 14” or 18” high. I may still have some overhang on the back unless I go cab height and then I’ll have more weight up high and catching wind. Visually this drives me nuts since it’s off center.

**Edit: meant extended cab not double cab - I have a double cab

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a 23Zero tent. How do you like it? Trying to decide between a 23Zero and a CVT. Everything I hear about 23Zero is that it's top notch.

I really like it. The Light Suppression Technology is legit. We woke up from camping and the kids had no clue the sun was up. Very roomy and we had the routine down of setting up and packing up fairly quickly after some practice. I’ve never owned an RTT so I don’t have a comparison. But we really liked the features of this one and several good reviews and YouTube videos later we had it ordered.

I like it as-is. Couple things though. I would paint everything behind it black, even if it’s a quick rattle can job. Really makes it look a whole lot cleaner and it’s what I did on mine.

I would also think about a recovery point. Even if you don’t plan on getting stuck and getting recovered, stuff happens. Not too sure how to do that though with all the tube. I guess in a pinch you could just wrap a soft shackle around it but I’d worry about it bending.

Edit: after staring at the pic more I think a strategically placed soft shackle down low and near the mounting plate would do great for a recovery

He's still got OEM recovery points. Not sure on how strong those are, but they are there.
