    See my edit, then.

Plus, some rental places require that you buy their insurance (at a similarly ridiculous rate per day), or they tack on a 'cleaning fee' when you bring it back (which they usually charge by the hour for) so that's something to look into before you sign on the dotted line as well.

Mine has been through a lot. It's a 2008ish Craftsman that blew its 23 HP Kohler engine, so it has an 18 HP Vanguard worth more than the whole machine probably is now. I snapped a bracket off of the deck so a friend and I welded that back onto it. Hydro transmission was having a hard time with hills and slowed down as it heated up so I drained and refilled with fresh oil which fixed it for a couple years but I think it's starting to act up again.

Next machine will have a locking differential. It would make a huge difference on my steep slopes. Husqvarna has one in the mid $2k range. Cub Cadet is a little higher. John Deere doesn't have that option until you get up to the x500 series, which is way more than I will pay for a lawn tractor for my half acre of lawn.

Read your edit, went to check out some more web sites and read the "fine" print. Milage kills the deal for what I want.

    Back to Toyota tomorrow. :mad::mad:

one of the techs cross threaded a lug nut. Coincidentally on the wheel I needed to take off to figure out a squeak. To be fair I didn’t check the other wheels after I found the one cross threaded. I’m sure that’ll be a fun call tomorrow to get them to own that one. o_O But hey I’ll be optimistic not going to say they’ll be negative without giving them the chance. BUT I can say I will not be going back to that service department again. Sales team is great I’ll buy another vehicle there in a heart beat. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the service. I’ll be going elsewhere in the future.

Fortunately they aren't that bad to keep running. Mine is 1999 or 2000. I had a 2000 I bought my dad and inherited back in 2010 but the hydrostat trans was lunched. $700 used for that particular trans, IF you can find one. Bought the one I suspect is 99 or 00 off Craigslist, which had a bum engine but started right up 8 years ago and still runs..haha.

For those prices though you could be better off carefully shopping used. Mine is overkill for my half acre as well but man, come fall season I would be lost otherwise. I get about 50 lawn/leaf bags off my yard.

Check what's open and available along your route. Most of the Private campgrounds are closed as well as the State's.

Just back from FL with my trailer. Rest Areas and parking lots. OK if you are enclosed, but I don't think conducive to pop-ups.

I saw a check point on the #95 southbound at the FL / GA border. Stopping all.
Those from the NE are supposed to quarantine themselves for two weeks when they land.

ya, thats some of the concerns I have. Just saw something that Pennsylvania is allowing private campgrounds to open up. But the whole 14 day thing may just stop this trip in early planning stages.

Edit: don't plan to hit Florida anyways.

Well.... do your homework. I'm sure they're not the only State acting crazy....

Hell.... even here in the old "Live Free or Die" State there are towns that have new ordinances that say you can't be out in public without a frickin' mask on. Our Town fathers are voting on it tonight in fact along with a $200. fine for non-compliance.

Southern NH ? Nahhhh..... not anymore. It's more like Northern Massachusetts ! :angrygirl:

Even if you don't go now, consider following your idea. It's a lot of fun !

paid 1.25 today in mass. Granted I had 40 cents off per gallon thanks to stop and shop. Was hoping to be under a buck.

This might be the only time we can ever do such a thing. Kids are 16 and 14 schedule is pretty wide open.

I’m trying to be patient but it’s really hard! Letting my brew bottle condition for 2 weeks, then i’ll crack my first home-brewed frosty beverage for Memorial Day weekend.

The difficulty is diff lock was only available on really high end machines up until pretty recently, so anything I find used is up there in price because it was a $6k machine new.

I could get the auto locking K46 transmission for mine but given the deck may not make it that many more years I am not sure I want to put that kind of money into it just to probably need to replace that too.
