It’s great you got out, looks like a good spot! I’ve been hunkered down- lots of honey doo’s and payback time for my Franconia fun last weekend... :pout::ballchain::angrygirl:

Ah, just kidding... its all old stuff I said I’d do. I’m hoping to be able to go somewhere with good prospects again soon too.

    A wee bit of gold.

We busted out the dry washer and shoveled some dirt. Sampled around at a spot we detect at.
I think we pulled $0.47 in gold. Ha!

This dry washer is a small puffer with an electric motor and a bellows. It is an older Keene. It's a good size for sampling around.
We also have a Keene 151 which is a monster. Two guys can shovel into it all day long and not meet it's capacity. The 151 kicks my butt!

Cool- hey just wondering, how many amps is the motor on those?

also, Bacardi 151 will kick your butt too! Especially for the young and stupid... :anonymous:

Hmmm... not sure on amperage, would guess 15 amp or so.. We use a smallish deep cycle battery and can go for hours. The motor is roughly equivalent to a windshield wiper motor in size.
The 151 has a stand alone gasoline motor/blower set up, although I think they can be optioned with different blower systems.

Pretty cool! I saw a old abandoned pedal powered one at an old mine in Angels Camp a long time ago, it was a puffer made with welded angle iron.

You can build/buy a washer with a hand crank, but it doesn't sound like much fun to me.

Yeah, a hand cranker is certainly not a very practical tool for working a lot of material. I would think your electric puffer one is much quieter though, that would be more my speed.

That sounds noisier than a blower powered washer, especially when you tell them they made dirt after all their work!
