I think it's because the work in a different fashion. A red dot sight has an eye lens, an objective lens and (this is where I'm unclear) it either uses a prism or an angled piece of laminated glass of the type used on a reflex sight in the middle that can be adjusted like a scope for POI. A reflex sight is just a laminated piece of glass with a reflective material that reflects the red or green dot. The projector is then adjusted for POI. Red dot sights have been around a lot longer than reflex sights have as well.

For the record, both my reflex sights are 7.5 MOA red triangles, although, Leupold discontinued the red triangle that gave the reflex sight its name and now the Delta Point Pro reflex sight is only available in a 3 MOA dot, which sucks, IMHO. If I get a third for my Beretta (either the PX4 or the 96) I'm probably going to go with a Trijicon with a green dot. That won't happen in the foreseeable future though since I want to rechamber my 6.5 BR to 6.5 Creedmoor next. Switching cartridges, I've discovered is a lot more expensive than just rechambering the barrel. Gotta buy new brass, new hand loading dies, and a host of other peripheral crap.

Lee your correct except you left out a holographic red dot. If your looking for a larger than 3 moa. The one i put on my Canik is a 6moa. Holosun makes a nice RMR that has a 3 moa dot with a 32 moa outer ringer. The ADE optic ran me close to hundred dollars where as a holosun will cost closer to $250.

I honestly just like the triangle shape. It feels natural for me to put the top point of the triangle where I want the POI to be. Maybe if it had a chevron or something similar, I'd like that too. I can live with a dot if I need to though. In fact, it was considering going to a dot for my AR so I could mount it on an angled rail to the side of the scope or even sideways on the left side of the scope tube so I could ditch the adjustable cheek rest and switch between the scope and the reflex sight faster and more naturally without having to cant the rifle. Then I could put the triangle on my 96...or my PX4 if it would fit. I know there's a mounting plate that uses the rear sight dovetail to mount it for a Beretta 92/96, but it doesn't mention the PX4.

Not saying anything bad about your choice, but it's been demonstrated to me over and over, where optics are concerned you really do get what you pay for. I have a Burris red dot sight with a 3 MOA dot and even when I didn't need glasses and had perfect eyesight I couldn't see the dot on the brightest intensity on a bright sunny day at the range. I won't by another Burris optic. I don't have that issue with my Leupold reflex sights, but I paid over $400 apiece for them. The Trijicons and the higher end Sig Sauers are similarly priced to the Delta Point Pro, but some of the Trijicons come in green (or amber), which going by the green laser on my PX4, I can see a lot better than red. The Trijicons (which I've gathered are what the military uses) also have the benefit of having the same mounting base as the Delta Point Pros. The only thing I don't like about my Delta Points is that the location of the button to turn them on and off and change the brightness. It's on top right behind the lens, where as the Sigs and Trijicons are on the sides and have two different buttons for brighter and darker. But what can I say, I'm a Leupold loyalist for the most part, although, if I had the money, I would buy a Night Force over a Leupold because of the features. IMHO, Leupold and Night Force are the two best optics on the market, even above the stupidly expensive European brands like Zeiss.

I did leave out the holographic sight. I was able to shoot with one once at the range when an old guy (meaning I was a young guy at the time, lol, so they've been around a lot longer than reflex sights have) out there let me try his. I wasn't too impressed with it, but maybe they've gotten better since then.

You would think by looking at it, but it's only a little more than half the power of the LCS on my 6.5 you had the chance to look through. 24x compared to 40x. With the 40x, you can see the grain of the paper at 100 yrds. Still, it's more than double the power of the 10x that was on there previously so I might be able to see the target at 300 yrds as opposed to a white spot covered up by the reticule, lol.

Shot a 100 yrd .555" 5-shot group today with Federal Gold Medal factory ammo in the AR with the new scope! I'm digging it. The target knobs seemed really consistent and predictable.

The WAC. It's open again, but they are only letting you use every other bench due to social distancing. It was busy today. Luckily I had to sight in the new scope and was able to do so on the 50 yard range while I was waiting to get a spot on the 100 yrd line.

About a quarter after 9. I don't know what the deal was. I went last Wednesday and there were two other shooters on the hundred yard line and they left about 20 minutes after I got there. I had the range all to myself for most of the day until one other shooter showed up about 20 minutes before I left.

On another point, I fired the last 40 rounds out of the 6.5 BR. It certainly didn't make any effort to convince me not to rechamber it. I think my powder (N135) might be bad or something. Last two times I had it out, the spent brass was coming out of the chamber cool, the barrel wouldn't warm up, and it was shooting 200 FPS slower than what the load data suggested for a 26" barrel and mine is a 28", so it should have been slightly faster. Doesn't matter though. I'm done with Vihntvouri and any other powder that has an anti-copper fouling agent. You can't store ammo with that crap for long before it corrodes all your ammo. I really want to try Varget, but the shit is like toilet paper since before toilet paper became scarce. As soon as someone gets some in it's sold out in minutes.

The plan now is to clean it good, take it apart and send it off to be rechambered for 6.5 Creedmoor and threaded for an Area 419 HellFire muzzle brake...so I can annoy the folks shooting next to me and have the area all to myself, lol. I'll probably have to shoot factory ammo for a while until I can get an extra $260 for a set of dies and another $90 for 100 pieces of Lapua brass...or $65 for 100 pieces of Starline, not as good as Lapua, but they have a good reputation aside from occasionally having too thick a rim for the extractor to fully engage.

Not as yet. I pretty much only use the 10 round mag at the range and then I only load it with 5 rounds at a time usually. The 30 round mags are too big for shooting off the bench, but when I have my working load figured out, I'll have a few of them loaded (25 rnds ea) and ready to go full time.

I also invested in an ultrasonic cleaner. Once I figure out the best cleaning solution to use, it should make life a lot easier cleaning the BCG.

Learned something a little cool tonight. Anybody know about the using a tactical/high intensity flashlight to find spiders in your yard at night by holding the light under your chin and looking for the sparkles of their eight beady little eyes? That was far out. There were dozens of them and I actually walked up and looked at about half a dozen of them, mostly wolf spiders, but my cousin walked up on a wood spider, one of the big ones with like a 5" leg span. The freaked her out pretty good, lol.
