Damn, a shame to see a nice 4440 buried like that. No choice but to wait it out and dig.....

I hate that so many of the older compacts and scuts have it right in the middle of the hood.
"Oh, it's time to tank up? Good luck not getting grease from the loader pivot all over your shirt/jacket, sucker"

I like the new design some of them are using, tucking the fuel tank under the floorboards.

My Ford is right in front of the steering wheel, but it has a loader and you have to be careful or you'll get grease on you.

Yeah, my NH and my old Kubota did as well. So did my '51 Case, and my dad's '57 Ford does as well. And it's the same problem with all of them; the tank filler cap is right behind the loader pivot.

My tractor started developing some bad hydraulic shivering at the end of last year. With the arrival of warmer weather, I'd like to fix it before it breaks something or blows the pump

I really suspect it is the hydraulic oil because there is some sludge in it when I take a sample out, so I'll do a complete flush and replace the filters

Besides the main hydraulic filter, I know there is a few filter screens around the hydraulic system and I supect they are clogged dirty as well. Can anyone tell me where these screens are located?

I have John Deere backhoe loader, if that can help

    thank you

Have you checked the level of the hydraulic fluid? Sounds like the pump is definitely starving for fluid. What number is the machine?

I have a friend who is a mechanic at J.D., I sent him a text and ask him where is the screen, as soon as he lets me know I'll post it.

Here you go. He said it should be easy to find, it's the only fitting in the whole trans.

He said there’s also a screen in the priority valve.

    Great thank you!!

As for the transmission screen, what is this greyed-out line it seems to be connected to?

Let me know if he finds other of these cigar shaped screens!

Oh never mind, I see that the last two pictures of your post about the transmission screen just loaded. Should be good enough to find it

seems to be for 410C/510C though

Is there a screen in the control valve for front bucket and one in the control valve for the backhoe?
I can find drawings, but not the components or an exploded view :(

Those are the only two he sent me, I wouldn’t think there are anymore. If it’s like most older Deere’s they only use one hydraulic pump to run everything.

    $$

The Carlisle's that we sell wholesale for something like $250, so I'm sure the Firestones are similarly expensive.
On the other hand, they last forever, so...
