Just picked up a 2018 DCSB OR in quicksand and am really happy to finally be back into a decent 4x4. Last reliable off road vehicle I had was a 95 Grand Cherokee with 4.0L that was tweaked a bit. Had a Dodge 1500 and the 4.7 went up in smoke. Tried a Cherokee and turned out to have been a delivery vehicle in NYC so it didn't last long. Tried an 86 M1009 but the family was VERY uncomfortable with zero amenities and no insulation. Finally bit the bullet to get what I know will be a solid long term commuter and weekend warrior.

Already made the first few dump runs with yard waste and an old mower so she's suburban broken in. I've got the all weather mats and Technology Package and no other options which is exactly what I wanted. The only thing wrong is a notch taken out of the plastic on the tail gate so I know it was used as a truck before. Nothing else I can find. Super clean inside and out and about $8k below the price of new.

Looked at new but every time I found one I liked the dealer either asked for a bunch of BS extra charges "because it's a Tacoma" or the truck was sold before I could get a firm price. In this area these trucks really go fast. Found this one on cargurus.com and had it locked in before it was even cleaned up from the trade in. I believe it was a lease.

I doubt I'll do any mods to it this year other than a Hondo vent phone mount once they are back in stock and maybe adjust the seat height in the front to give me a bit more leg support. Just too much else to do and frankly the truck drives perfect and looks great. Just need a trip to the range and then a deer in the back to get her fully integrated.
