@crashngiggles / Gotcha!!!! So if you're bumpered up front on 4th notch, and I'm non-bumpered, should I take my notch down to 3rd clip and call it a day?? This should net me that 3" ?? What'cha think??

So you have nothing on right now for armor? No bumper, skids, or winch?

If you have no weight at all, I would most likely start on the 2nd one if not the first to see how the 650 lb spring is going to be ride wise. It is really tough to say though because the 600's have a ride height for each notch and no one ever measured the ride height of the 650's on each notch without extra weight on.

So 650 lbs. it is. I'll be waiting for a report @crashngiggles when you get them installed and all settles. I may need to do this as well to mine.

    Not enough
I just love going offroading/camping and I'm more interested in following my friends in there massive rigs, so I want lift and ground clearance.
    700lb
    5/4 notch, I've been fine
I did a huge road trip in 2018,over 5000 miles, wheeled at moab, wheeled in big bear, these trucks are pretty tough. I just like to drive it, yep its stiff but its smiles per gallon, even broke a carquest axle doing so, but it turned into a cool story and learned from it. Part of wheelin DSC06462.jpg

Hows the 650lb springs 53-291387 working for you so far? And what notch are you on 6112?

Keep in mind that I have a 2nd gen. I am on the 4th notch. The 650lb springs are awesome now that I have added the weight. I started with the 600lb springs, then added a front bumper, then skid trio, and it sunk about 3/4". The 650lb springs brought me right back to the same height without the weight and have the same ride as the 600lb springs without the weight. 650lb springs without the weight would be a harsh ride.

Yeaaap! I’ve a 3rd gen with 6112 set to max 6th notch been about year & half now and heres the kicker with King 700lb coils and wait.... no aftermarket weights in front. Just recetly added a slider.

So actually wanting to go from current 700 to 650! ✋

Cool. How is your ride with no weight and 700lb king springs?

+ I am on Max 6th height setting.

Short story: I would not recommend it. I knew it would be harsh but I had to try it to find out for myself and I just didn't want to go back and forth + I thought I may end up putting steel bumpers/winch/skids etc but plans have changed. I'm thinking of going down to 650 and drop a notch from 6th > 5th and try that for some time before maybe I go to Tundra in near or far future.

My 6112s and 700# springs are being installed as I make this post.
Going for 2.5" to 2.75" lift.
6112s with 700# springs on 4th clip each side and... 1/4" top plate spacer on each side..
I have front & rear steel bumpers, winch, rock sliders, 1/4" steel skids, 2 aux batteries, fridge/freezer in back seat and a shell.
I'll report back on lift and ride later this week.
Adding new leaf springs and stuff in the rear too.

OP here. This is my truck as it sits, still with the 6112s and the 700# springs. Haven't had any issues. 3rd notch passenger side, 4th notch driver, for the lean. I would say it gave me about 2.5" lift. Which is right where I wanted to be. Still have the Icon 1.5" AAL in the rear, so it sits pretty level.

So I've read through some of this thread. But not all, so forgive me if I missed info I am asking about.

How is the ride with 700lb springs vs 650lb? Truck is 2015 DCLB with sliders and OME Med Leaf with B110's and I still have some drivers side lean at 5/4 with the 600lb springs, I'm about 250lbs so I know my bulk doesn't help. But even when I'm not in the truck it has some lean.

My plan is to get the 8112 springs (pn 53-291394) since I have seen other install them on 6112's and probably look at clip 3/2 which in theory should put my ride height about where I am at with 600lb on 5/4). I have sliders being built currently but no front armor. To compare, I had the 3rd gen TRD OR suspension before 6112's which has 700lb springs and it felt much more planted. After installing the 6112's it just feels under sprung by comparison, with or without the sway bar. I'm hesitant to get 650lb springs and not like them only to go through the whole disassembly process again and install 700lb if 650's don't make me happy.

The ride for me is just fine. Not to soft and not to stiff. Has good handling on the highway, no body role, but I don't drive crazy either. And it rides better than my roommates 2019 Jeep Rubicon off road, much better in fact. The 6112s do a great job eating up the bumps and washboards. I could have probably gotten away with just the 650# springs but that's not what the shop recommended. I don't have much weight up front besides the ARB bumper and a winch. It did take a few tries to get the ride height where I wanted though.

Do you still have the front sway bar? I currently have mine off and notice it likes to dive into corners pretty hard. Doesn't make it feel dangerous, but it's more than I like. It just feels like the spring rate is well balanced with the rear. I imagine the 700lb spring would help out with that quite a bit.

Reading this thread after ordering my 6112's with the 700 lb spring has me a bit concerned haha.
