Someone told me that Grits and Groceries was closing down their restaurant to focus more on catering. I haven't made it out there lately so..

Another hole-in-the-wall favorite of mine is Mac Smith's Country Store. It looks like nothing.. but they have really great food.

We had homemade pimento cheeseburgers the other day. So good. I'll brag a bit and say I make some damn good pimento cheese.

You should have seen it back in the 70's-80's. We didn't go to downtown Greenville back then.

 

Still can't get on board with this.

 

Its been a couple years now but there was an article in the news that said they were actually changing ownership.
Then another article that said they had changed their minds after community support and closing wasnt an option.
Havnt heard much about it since then. That must have been 2 years ago or better.

 

Im with you on that. Hard pass for me.

 

I think a lot of places where like that around that time. Dad says the same thing about parts of down town Knoxville. He has said when he was in collage( in the 70’s) it wasn’t a good idea to go to parts close to school at any hour of the day let alone at night. Now you can walk around some of those Area's at any hour and be relatively safe.

 

I really dont know whats in it, but I know I like it

 

2 like semi-main stream foods I just wont eat.... pimento cheese and cottage cheese!

No on the cream cheese (don’t like it) and I can’t eat mayo or stuff with mayo in it. It will be coming back out the way it went it and that’s not fun.
