Just wondering if anyone knows if there is any modification needed in fitting a Magnaflow catback exhaust system on an 01 Tacoma 3.4L V6 4x4 double cab? I've been lookin around and the part #15811 seems to be for extended cabs. Does this matter? Looking for a bolt on solution, my exhaust pipe is rusted out real bad. Need to get this done asap.

So any double cab 4x4 owners here have a full Magnaflow exhaust?? Would love to know as much as possible before I make the purchase.

I just got a universal magnaflow at the auto store and welded it up to stock pipes and worked perfect

Part #15811 is the correct part for the magnaflow cat back exhaust. A quick heads up though about this exhaust. If you do a little research there seems to be some issues with this exhaust throwing codes, specifically P0136. This code relates to,the rear O2 sensor. Either the flange by the rear sensor is made differently from the factory or something is off from magnaflows manufacturing process.
After this code popped up for me, I put my factory exhaust back on and bye bye code. Just do a little reading about it before you spend the $500 on this exhaust. Lots of reading on customtacos.com.

I have a 15811 Magnaflow installed on my 2004 4WD extended cab with the 3.4 since June.

    I've had no codes

The exhaust fits OK, but is pretty tight up against the rear mudflap bracket maybe a half an inch. Also is about a half inch away from one of the frame cross members. I have yet to see or hear the exhaust contact in these areas, but it is concerning how close they are.

I ended up buy the entire exhaust because I've run into some pretty hacky butcher booger weld shit from muffler shops.

Maybe you won't have any problems. I had mine on for about 3 months before I got any codes. I'm definitely not alone with my code that I had. Plenty of info on customtacos.com about it. I put my factory exhaust back on and no more codes, which seems to be the solution.
Looks wise and fit, I would agree it's a little tight in some areas but looked great especially how nice it looks tucked up high.

I just put this baby on the other day, stock pipe before the muffler.

Yeah it's strange, the site I'd be ordering from says they cannot find a part that will fit, I'm not sure if they just don't know what they're talking about or what?

I guess my main questions is, is there any difference between the double cab and the ext. cab in terms of fitting an exhaust? Because everything else matches up.

    Thanks for all your help/suggestions!

Reviving old thread. I have the p0136 code which I didn’t know was a Magnaflow problem but I happen to have the #15811 cat back exhaust. I have the new o2 sensor but the threads are junk. I’m thinking about replacing just the intermediate pipe. Wondering if a $50 Walker will fit?

I’m not sure. I called Magnaflow but the guy said he wasn’t sure if the studs pull out or it’s welded as one piece.

should just be threaded studs. if not just cut em flush then drill and tap for one. the walker uses smaller diameter pipe and wont clamp into the magnaflow
