I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4 x 4 I’m looking for a DIY lift kit system I can do on my own. I am a Macanic so I can do the work .Only one I hear about is icon I’m thinking stage 3. I mainly just want a 3 inch lift and a complete packet so I don’t have to peace together my self cause I never lifted a truck before. Only would off road to get to cool spots not to beat it up but mainly want a good ride on the road.thanks plz let me know any Recommendations even different brands thank you

Welcome! I think 3in lift is pushing it if you don't know what you are doing. I am at 2.5in and keeping an eye on cv angles, boots, etc. any more and I think I would have to replace my CV due to the boot fins rubbing and I am sketched out on the angle of it.
If you are not really doing any offroading and want it for looks, I would say do a 2in suspension lift and add a 1 in spacer/puck that doesn't compress the springs more.

How about a 3’’ lift on my 19 Pro? I love the ride off road , I just want more clearance now. I’ve outgrown my stock clearance. Lol

Haha just messing with you:rofl::rofl::rofl:welcome to the forum :hattip:

Lots of lift options for Tacoma's. They are a bit like lego with all the interchangeable parts available. You can go basic and get Bilstien's, or go more advanced with Icon or Ironman.

I have looked at Icon, it would be at the top of my list, but I believe they max out at 2 inches of lift.

Doesn’t matter if it’s the pro. The tacos don’t like 3in+ lifts. You can do it, just with a lot of modification if you don’t want to break anything and you will be taking it off-road.
Never really needed more that 2.5” if lift for the type I do and some tacos that I know that rock crawls are fine with 2” of lift, just have to a lot slower and more cautious than say a lifted jeep.

So 2.5’’ more than what I currently have is safe then ? Any suggestions? I want the same quality as I currently have , I just want more clearance is all. I’d buy a Fox Setup equivalent to mine , but with more height if I could.

You are already allegedly at +1 in the front on the Pro. Would be a bummer to mess with the suspension on the Pro, that's why you bought it. If I had one and wanted to lift it, I would sell the OEM Fox gear and get a Bilstein 8112, Fox level 3 or 4, ADS, or King setup. I don't like spacers/blocks and I really hate the idea of adding it to good suspension personally.

I have the Icon stage 3 kit. You won't get 3" out of it. You can adjust the front coilovers pretty high, but that kit only comes with the 1.5" add-a-leaf pack in the rear, so you'll be staring a the sky with a major bro lean if you crank the front end up too much.

I like the Icons, but if you're spending this kind of money, you might want to get some opinions on an equivalent King setup.

edit: Also. I'm not a mechanic at all. I did the install with help from a friend, and he did all the hard parts. And pointed and yelled at me when I was doing something wrong.

I won’t do blocks/spacers either. I’d rather do it right and spend the money. And yes , my stock suspension is absolutely awesome on and off road. I just deal with clearance issues at many places that I go. I like the idea of staying with Fox. So many love Kings, but I think Fox makes a extremely good product. I’ll keep the stock setup to put back on the truck if I ever sell it , or just to have a backup if I brake something. So Fox level 3 or 4 you’d suggest looking at ??

Bigger tires will get you more clearance for the pumpkin and such too.

Correct, but I’ve gotta lift a bit to put bigger tires on. I’ve looked into doing 255/85/16. I’ve seen several guys do that with no issues , without lifting the truck. Every little bit of clearance helps.
