4-4.5" diameter opening at the base where the shifter feeds in to the boot and they are roughly 6-7" tall except for the crawl box shift boot.

I'm just going off of memory but I'll be happy to go measure for you here in a bit. Do you want any pictures of anything in particular?

    No problem!
Are you going to make the boot yourself or have a shop so it?

I would think you'd also want to tie this in somehow with the crawlbox mount. I think this is a neat way to flatbelly the truck but with a clocked t-case I'd have to mod this mount even further to make it work.

A shop. I started a dialogue with redline via email about it and just trying to pin down some measurements with them.

Yea that would require a lot of modifications for you. Better off if you could get FROR to ship you the whole thing not welded together so you can weld them arms where you need them.

That would be a sturdy support. Xmember to frame and crawl box, crawl box to transfer case, transfer case to frame. I can't imagine it twisting much.

I'm sure you could order one and cut the arms off. Any decent welder/fabricator should be able to make a matching pair or burn them in to match where it's clocked.

I will admit, that’s an intriguing thought.

I’ll be discussing this with Anthony this weekend.

You could also delete the factory crossmember and go for a flat belly...

Think I might order one myself lol

I believe so. Also, the website says it is not currently available in stock.
With my configuration of builders kit would make much more sense

    @hoverlover @HomerTaco

I have been dragging my feet on this stupid shift boot and I know I am over thinking the shit out of something so simple but give me a sanity check as I am applicating my geometric knowledges...

The red basically outlines my proposed boot.

    20200706_184606.jpg

Approximate length and width of the shifter opening is approximately 8"x9" overall, being wider at the top at 7.75" and narrower at the bottom at 6.25". This shit needs so be close, but not perfect. It's not a transmission adapter.

I was thinking something like 2ish x 3" for each of the tcase shifters and a 8ish x 6" for the trans shifter? How does that jive with your boots? Should I make the tcase shifters 2ish x 4, and the transmission 8ish x 5?

You want an inch or more of material around the perimeter to be able to fasten to the center console.

Gotcha. Yes, I'll have them cut the foot print a little wider for the entire thing. My biggest concern was the size of the individual boots, especially the small ones. Thanks Craig!

4" might be a bit short on the crawl box and hi/low levers, those have a ton of throw. I'll measure mine when I get back home.

For certain, more is better. I thought there was sufficient material around the base of mine and I still pull it up and off of the trim when I use low range. Get as much in there as you can. The more mating surface area of boot to trim the better it will hold.

Height of the triple sticks, I think mine are closer to 5". I'll get measurements when I get back home though.

I measured from around the shifter base to the ends of the trim and added 1". You can always trim it; it's a bitch and a half to add more.

    Thanks Alex. Appreciate the input.

For a little clarification on some of those measurements:

The 2x3 vs 2x4 (width x length) measurement is on the square footprint of the rear shifters, not the vertical height. I honestly don't think that the footprint makes much of a difference as compared to the vertical measurement (as you pointed out) which is what gives me the material I need to allow the shifter throw. I measured all three rear shifters from the back of the opening to the knob with the shifters in the forward most position. The largest throw was 6.5" on the crawlbox and 4wd shifters, 5" on the FJ hi-lo. So I figured minimum 8" vertical height on the rear shifters should allow the throw I need, plus will make the overall footprint slightly larger by about an inch as you suggested.

For the trans shifter I'm going with the factory boot measurement of 11" on the longest diagonal. I double checked that against actual measurements of the shifter in 2nd and 6th, which was like 9" so that shouldn't need to be lengthened.

Do you think your guy would consider doing a boot for me?

The reason I ask is I am not overly impressed with Redline's communication about what they need from me as far as measurements and how to set up this boot. I have done all the work myself, and they have offered no suggestions. I kind of figured they would have some clue on how to break everything up since ya know...that's what they do. I have asked them for two phone calls to talk through this and give them the measurements they need. They have blown off my request for a call twice now, and it seems like they only answer e-mails once a day between 1:30am and 2am. So always a minimum of 24 hours between communication. The last e-mail from them was on Friday morning sending me a link to their payment page and telling me to just "pay the amount that we discussed," even though they never quoted me a price. Still waiting for a response back. Doesn't seem like they want my business.
