Yeah snorkel would probably help, just never been a fan of the look. Gonna see if I can rig something up to duct air towards the filter.

To dampen the rotors from the engine pulses driving it.
We see the belt spin but in reality it is not a continuous drive like from an electric motor.

Oh that's legitimate! I actually have been scoping out the Personnel Force Innovation site as well and they have Title 10 openings for Military Police out at the Corpus Christi Army Depot. I also heard that Tesla will be moving headquarters out to TX as well. So I think opportunity out there for me at this moment in time is fairly ripe for the taking, so money should not be a huge issue.

That would be fun! That would be one hell of a mod day!

took me a minute to figure out how to change the SC belt. the answer is to remove the tensioner - two 14mm bolts holding the assembly to the engine and one 12mm bolt on the side bracket and she's off. couldn't find a writeup on this but i reckon it is discussed in here somewhere.

i blew up my original belt because i failed to check to see everything lined up after putting the pulley on. won't make that mistake again. the belt was all birdnested up in the crank pulley. for a second i thought i was going to have to pull that sumbitch off to get the belt out but it eventually wrestled free.

also learned that the fan needs to be articulated in the correct position in order to allow the tensioner to move enough to get the belt on.

cutting the belt from 8 ribs down to 5 was an adventure.

fully agree with everyone else who pulley'd: it's awesome! should have done this long ago.

Air filter sits right here with the splash shield facing towards the wheel well. No inner fenders so it’s completely open on the other side.

But comparing logs from last August to last week, intake air temps jumped up 20-40degrees

i know what you mean. It grew on me for sure. function over form.. all. day.

I knew someone would explain it better. I mean.. I guess I was right.. lol

I forgot you re-did the front end and its all open. You would definitely benefit from a snorkel then. clean, cool air brotha! That thing looks like its designed to suck in hot, dusty air. lol

I may have to piggy back on this. I had been pondering of the idea of seeing if we could make that happen. cant trust the shops around here.

Here's an annoying head scratcher for you guys..

I have a pause at take off when I'm either at low speed or fully stopped. I'll touch the pedal lightly and the truck will get going and then all of a sudden I'll feel the engine let off, like I let off on the accelerator pedal but it will re-engage and get going all the way. I have checked all ABS speed sensors and @JustDSM sees no issues in any of my sensors. I tried cleaning the throttle body and MAF this afternoon and there has been no change. There are no codes stored in the PCM regarding the issue.

I even monitored a lot of the items myself like throttle body, but I see no issues. Except drop offs when it happens, but the drop offs are all around.

Any ideas as to what it could be, because it's driving me nuts.

Do throttle bodies fail on these trucks?

I currently have 121K on the odometer.

Almost sounds like it loads up the way a carb would. I can send you an adapter and tundra TB if you want to throw some controlled subs on it. Or I could swap out mine and send you my OEM TB to check it.

Sounds like a maF sensor problem to me. Only other thing I’ve seen is a bad brake switch and the brake over ride kills the gas pedal.
