either way...I think you answered this previously? outter CV isn't a plunge so it doesn't have the same issues as the inner cv... (in terms of strength and movement)

The question was of technical content, the answer was you must be a technical guy and to have some faith. OK, Whatever. I know the outer cv does not allow for axle length variation... and inherently that makes it stronger than one that does. But it still is exposed to more angular operation than the inner, and from what I heard first hand, does break in cases where the tripot joint did not. This axle enhancement doesn't address that. Which, may not be not a problem, but it is a factual statement. And my statements were not meant to stir the pot or doubt someones experience or product offerings. It is just information that I was bringing to the table and asking for thoughts.

That’s literally their job, so I guess it makes sense.

Its better for the CV to break than the ADD or front differential. I'm wrapping up an install for 40 inch tires on my truck, I have RCV's and OEM CVs.... Guess which ones I'm going to run and guess which ones are going to be the spares. Unless I break a OEM joint CV every time I go out I'll only use the RCVs as spares.

Keeping one of the joints OEM will help protect the more expensive and harder to replace components

The 934 allows for a longer axle with more plunge which allows the outer to be more relaxed. This was discussed in detail in the original thread.

Some people take that approach, to use a fuse of sorts. I can't fault it, but of course it depends on application and size of the fuse. Something to be said for breaking cheap easy to replace parts. Wonder if anyone has compiled data on how many have broken diffs compared to axles, especially when there are upgraded components like gearsets and lockers involved, which are advertised to be stronger than OEM.

Ahh... thanks. Don't know how I missed that, my apologies. Longer axle does reduce outer cv working angle. That statement is all that was needed, not any of the snarky engineer comments.

As was already stated, you're over thinking this. It's not electrical work. Unless you have the skills and machinery to custom make CVs you really only have 3 choices..... OEM joints, RCVs, or 934 inner/OEM outer

I don't know your intention with your truck but unless you plan on crawling difficult technical trails, your whole line of questioning is kind of moot. @81Trekker already said the main purpose of the CV 934 upgrade was to compensate for the extra travel his LT kit has. If you are solely prerunning with any other suspension kit you shouldn't be breaking CVs, OEM or not.

All your going to find about front end failures will be anecdotal. Anecdotally, I tool around on TW and IG a lot and have never seen a report of someone breaking a front R&P or front carrier on late model Toyota 4x4s, except me.

I’m in for CV’s, what’s the ETA for being ready for those?

Also please list them for a plus 3.5” LT kit. I should be able to get some a specs if needed.

What's included with the steering setup? Just noticed the heimed tie rods are listed separate for somebody. I thought they were included, but if not, I definitely want to add those!

Same with the long travel actually, does it include everything as a lot, or do I need to get my own limit straps etc? No big deal, just want to be prepared

I believe the outer hiem conversion is optional with the steering.

@81Trekker can confirm on that and the BOM for the LT kit.
