    Good afternoon,

I recently purchased my new Tacoma. It is a 2020 Cement TRD Sport.

I am really excited about making some modifications to it, as I am sure most are when they are in this position.

I have an idea of what I am going to do regarding changes in the body, but I really want to get some advice on lift/tire size.

I see a lot of the 3" lifted Tacoma's, and although they are awesome, I think I want a little more than that.

I am open to a 3" lift if I can get a taller look out of it with the tires, but obviously am limited in that regard because of rubbing (so I have read).

I won't be using it for much off roading, mostly highway miles and driving on the beach (don't hate).

My budget is about 4K-5K. Can I get some advice/pictures to show me what you all have and what specifically I should look into to get the height I am searching for?

Welcome to TW! As far as lifts go, if you go more than 3 inches you’ll need to do a drop bracket lift. I have a 4 inch D/B lift on my truck with 33 inch tires and love the stance. The downside to D/B lifts is that you must cut out a section of the cross member on your frame. I wasn’t concerned about the cross member thing but, I don’t have a brand new truck.D40F550B-4E56-427F-B5F4-EA39D3623075.jpg

I was reading about DB lifts and there are a lot of people who says the functionality and capability of the truck is compromised.

I guess I need to figure out what the max height I can get with a 3" lift. What type of 3" lift and how big should I get the tires?

If you get a good off-road shop to do the install you’ll have no problems. I’ve had mine for about 3 years now and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever. My truck even rides pretty nice even with Firestone Ride Rite air bags.

    Welcome to TW!
I honestly had added a 3 inch lift 2 months ago and recently went from 265 to 285/70/ 17s
Lift is amazing at that height I thighs it was just too high but it came out great. Ended up leveling the back to even it out. Didn’t really like the “squat” look on my truck (preferably not my cup of tea)

Have some slight rubbing on the driver side so had to do some slight trimming. Wheels have a “0” off set so it sticks out more. I don’t know if that particularly helps the rub but when I had an alignment it fixed most of it. The only rubbing I get is on the lower control arm on passenger side. Now idk how to fix that ahaha
