please note these instances and reference the time on the log if at all possible. I'm seeing this issue on the rise and what I'm observing is the ECU is acting as if it's still at idle, and is applying the idles ignition correction (which cuts a bunch of timing) and makes the truck feel gutless for a split second or two.

Thanks! It's a Lotek "2 pod / full pillar." Note that it's designed for '05-'09 Tacomas, but works in later MYs usually with slight modification.

 

I'm going to take a dedicated log for you tomorrow specifically made to log the lags at take off exclusively tomorrow or the next day since I'll be off. Are you meaning to say that I'm not the only one who this is happening to as of lately?

I almost wonder if this may be related to the 100% removal of throttle lag which I have had you remove on my setup for immediate throttle input.

When I have observed data on my scanner I have noticed as it graphs on the TB that I can see a small spike up as I input throttle then as soon as the pause happens the graph drops a little then it comes right back up. Coincidentally I have also noticed the the STFTs spike to about 20% or so when this happens then they even out to normal readings.

 

I noticed a similar thing as well. Almost felt noting then back to normal.

 

You know what, did you trim your intake tube at all before installing it?

I remember I saw a video once about the TRD intake tube butting up against the valve cover fresh air breaker hose fitting and it was causing lean issues.

What intake are you running?

 

Urd tcai routed to above the engine lol. Ordered some louvers that one should be able to get mounted directly above the filter. Gonna see how they look and how I like them before cutting and also probably gonna do some logging with the truck just idling for a while and see how things change if I open the hood. Not the best of tests but it’s something before chopping holes in the hood

Oh I see it. Its backwards to what a traditional intake does. No wonder your IATs are high!why can't you run it the traditional way outwards toward by the FMIC?

 

You got your gauges already, Im still waiting for mine. It's stuck at "in production".

 

Engine cage tubes are in the way. Anywhere else in the wheel well is just way too exposed to water ingestion.

 

Water ingestion is not as big a deal as you are making it unless you go fording rain and similar stuff of that nature does nothing.

The tubes are in the way, fair... how about routing it the traditional way using a series of silicone tubing made by Squirrelly performance? I made my URD TCAI at the time route the intake a custom way and it required I cut portions of the curved tube to make it run the way I needed. Myself and @White lightning boosted ran ours this way for a long time with no issues. If there is no immediate solution, make one.

 

Yah I ordered Them last year though. They did take forever and they also noted a delay due to all the shit going on.
