3rd Gen Tacoma Driver’s Side Grab Handle - CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION

So will the airbags work with the handle utilizing a threaded clip nut on the back? Is that how the passenger side handle connected to the pillar?

I have been informed that I possibly should be receiving the grab handle on Friday from DHL

 

Thanks for posting the pic. My apologies for not looking back a few pages and seeing that.

With that said, anybody have a picture of the passenger side airbag deployed? I’m guessing it would look similar to the drivers side.

It is a prototype that she is getting for her final approval before starting manufacturing.

 

She is receiving what is hopefully the final prototype for test fitting. The actual order shipment will be for 1000 pieces, but shipping for that is still several months away. But you can pre-order . . .

Definitely in. Miss my 2nd gen handle and I feel like an idiot trying to get in my truck and avoid the sliders. Will place an order later today.

 

UPDATE:



It has finally arrived and the fit is perfect. I didn’t have to turn it or nothing. I want to analyze it tomorrow during the day and then this weekend with my guy at the shop one last time. Then come Monday I am hoping to give the word to my vendors that we are good to go into production!!!!!!

I’m really thinking that the best install would be to insert a jacknut into the factory hole in that second bottom position. Getting it as centered as possible. I know this would mean that people would need to get a Rivnut gun but I really think this would be the best anchor for people especially if you are grabbing ahold of it a lot. I think that is what I may include in the kit and if people would rather go a different route, then they can always go that route. The only other thing I may do is offer probably a metal plate U-type clip speed nut like this one:
