1st gen SR5 side emblems

Is there really only 1 place to find the 1st gen “SR5 C-Pillar” emblems on eBay? I’m wondering why Toyota would discontinue them, when there are still so many 1st gen Tacoma’s on the road.

It’s a simple argument of supply and demand. The demand for badges are not enough to be profitable, therefore they are discontinued. A lot of parts for this truck are discontinued because of its age.

Good luck finding them on eBay, I’ve seen them sell for a few hundred dollars.

It just seems random bc the “ToyotaTacoma” side door “Tacoma” tailgate, “PreRunner SR5” tailgate are still readily available... I thought I had the solution by buying a new PreRunner SR5 and cutting it in half... until I realized the SR5 side emblems are noticeably bigger...

 

I read somewhere around here that somebody had made SR5 vinyl stickers that duplicate the look of the OEM badges. Unfortunately I do not remember the specifics. If this has any appeal, it might be worth doing a deep search here and possibly Ebay.

Garth, appreciate the post. Do you have the direct link on Amazon for those chrome auto letters/numbers? I've typed it exactly like the description but cannot find an exact match like in your post.

do those emblems wear bad in the elements?

 

This is the OEM passengers side and you can see where the chrome has come off in some spots. That’s why I want to replace mine. Just looking for something that looks OEM.

My guess is even if I found some at a pick a part, they won’t come off very clean...

 

there in pretty good shape, I definetly don't have a chrome peel issue, just don't like how the paint looks in between the letters after I just fully cut and polished the paint

 

If you don’t like and are not going to repaint... You may want to reapply them... If you want to sell them I would be interested in buying them

 

I’ve got a set coming off my truck soon. I’ll sell them. Great shape.
