I’ll take it back this morning and work the price. In the end, if I paid 32k plus crap, I would be ok. I got approved for 40k loan with the same company that my truck loan is through. So if we can get 32k out the door price, I’ll sign cause that’s leaves me 8 to pay off the truck.

I got the wife on board, so I need to move while I can. I’m hoping to get some movement due to oversized tires and the rub every time I go in or out of driveway. They have already trimmed plastic from the front wheel wells.

Doesn't that just put another 8k earlier on the loan where you pay more interest (amortization)? All you're doing is moving that 8k earlier on a loan, paying higher interest on it each month (unless car loans don't amortize the same way but I think they do?)

I’d also push cause it looks like they added a alpine head unit? Sure it might be an upgrade, but play the “this will effect warranty and resale” card?

Check out BDR in Holliston. They specialize in Land Rovers (and they have a ton of cool builds going on at once). But they also do good work on Toyota's. There's lots of local Landcruiser guys who bring their cars there as a bunch of the mechanics there are former Toyota Master techs. I brought my Landcruiser there because I didn't feel like doing the lift in my driveway like all my other stuff. They do great work, are very familiar with lifts and don't bat an eye installing them/ setting them how you want them.

They aren't going to be a budget option, but i'd rather pay for someone to do it right if i'm not doing it myself. I think their rates are slightly cheaper than most dealerships, but not $50/ hr by any means.

    Exactly my thought.

Unless the $8,000 is at a significant rate discount than the original loan.

I have just over a year and a few months left on my truck, payments about 450. After combining the loans, I end up owning 40 gran and pay about 625 a month. So, I am sure I lose some, but this keeps the 8 grand in the bank and accessible. And I’m not paying a grand a month in auto payments for the next year and a halfish.

I’m get the new loan at 5.3%, not as good as my previous (1.9).

Factored into the equation, is the fact we were checking out renting a SUV to take cross country and back, and that was a few grand that would have ended up on the credit card for a few months.

I’m also hoping they let me use my credit card for some of the payment, so I can collect points and pay off before credit card interest.

It drives really nice. I only went for a short test drive but I really enjoyed it. Used car market is in the toilet so I was shocked how low they were selling it for. They also didn't completely rape us on the trade in so we made out alright and got a much newer and nicer vehicle with a lot fewer miles.
