Haha Glad you are liking Batch 1 of the Spicy Taco Sauce. Im curious, get down to a speed where it can downshift to first, (rolling at 20mph or so) and floor it making sure it goes down into first. I want to make sure i didnt raise the far end of the 2 to 1 shift to make it pointless and have it shift too quickly after downshifting.

Ahhh you’re getting me excited to try it later. Almost as excited as whatever @JustDSM is cooking up for the 4Runner now that he cracked into it and got log channels sorted out.

    Shift points confirmed awesome @nd4spdbh

It makes sense as to why the truck was just a pig and falling on its face everywhere. The transmission tuning was corrupt for quite some time now! I love my truck again and feel like it has huevos through all the RPM band again.

Thanks for all of your help brother. You too @JustDSM

I am still going to do headers though. ;)

As if he needs more shout outs, but big thanks to @JustDSM for spending quite a bit of time back and forth with me today working on the 4Runner tune and helping get a support ticket in to add what we need to really dial it in. Awesome improvements today.

@nd4spdbh stsb1 loaded to the taco for testing tomorrow. Based on @12TRDTacoma response I think I’ll like it.

Thanks for the praise! I'm glad the spicy taco sauce batch 1 is liked!

Any word on that 2 to 1 downshift?

Holy special sauce, who needs MPGs. We’re gallons per mile now. Just a solid commute this morning but you really got balls on the highway at cruising speed to pass. I haven’t really hit the low end hard yet. The engine was still cold and I didn’t want to shock load the ring and pinion. I am at around 120-130 per wheel unsprung. I dropped four teeth on the last ring so I am a little more conscience until the D60 gets slapped on.

it is pretty freaking sweet. More testing needed on cruise while towing.

Much better with the downshifts now sir. What were you asking about the 2-1 downshift? If it would do it? I did a 17mph by gps roll and hammered it and it did downshift for me.

Im going to revise the spicy.... i made the downshift taller than the upshift oops. for the 2 to 1, in a specific case (~2500rpms in 2nd) you would downshift than immediacy try to upshift in the higher throttle inputs. @zippsub9 @12TRDTacoma and @snowsk8air2 and the few others that have the spicy taco sauce. Ill be reaching out

Question for those of us running unreasonably large tires :anonymous: Would that necessitate scaling the trans tune differently since we are at vastly different speeds than stock tires? Just a thought. As for the update, you have my latest tune so just throw it in there and send back whenever you have the changes you want done.

The reference points are prior to the wheels and should be relative.

haha.... ill use that excuse for my eff up on STSB1 2-1 top end downshift .... But yes, all shifting is based on driveshaft output speeds re-gearing / larger tires wont change a thing as far as when the trans actually shifts.

Spicy Taco Sauce Batch 2 is READY!

@snowsk8air2 @12TRDTacoma @zippsub9 AND ANY OTHERS WITH STSB1 disregard your STSB1 tunes, and apply the STSB2 asap (if you keep STSB1 for any length of time be careful with 2 to 1 downshifts at higher throttle inputs at the higher speeds of what 1st gear is capable of, as im not sure how things will react) STSB1 has been pulled, and those three I applied it two have been mailed new STSB2 tunes.

I fixed my eff up. 2 to 1 (dark blue) at 75-100% throttle moved down to be below the 1 to 2 upshift (neon green).... doh. Everything stated in the initial post sill applies.

always wanting more! haha.... drive the spicy batch 2 for awhile and we shall go from there, cant get more much more spice on the downshifts without creating hunting or going above upshifts. which means id have to add more to upshifts and make them occur even later.
