Bilstein 6112

Skip the diff drop, and do the carrier bearing drop. Definitely do the ECGS bushing. You should be fine with the rest. With a 1" rake wanted, I would suggest the 4/5 notch with the AAL. The only other thing to consider is an aftermarket UCA but not necessary right away.

Whats your final notch/coil setup to clear 285/75-17 with the 600# springs?

 

Correct. I couldn't find or test any scenario where they were harsher than stock. That includes on road.

 

Here’s my 2019 DCLB. Finally upgraded tires and a week later I threw on bilstein 6112/5160 combo on the truck. Bilstein is set on 3/2 clips for a .5 inch from lift. I had a 1.5 inch rake on the truck (you short bed owners might have different).

The tires are Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT in the C load for 265/75/16. I HIGHLY recommend them. No notice in power loss from the tires. Tires alone pushed the truck up .5 inches.

Once I installed the lift, I have noticed about 1 mpg loss from both the lift and tires. So I’m super happy.

If anyone is hesitant on buying bilstein, it’s IMO the best bang for you buck. The truck is 10x more planted on the road. There’s no floating feeling while going over a bridge expansion joint or Something of the like. Yes it is firmer, but it handles corners and braking exceptionally.

Thoughts: I wouldn’t change any of my decisions. Overall I gained .5 inches in the rear and 1 inch in the front. I still have a 1 inch rake but it’s not as noticeable. I didnt feel like dealing with driveline issues just yet so i decided to not AAL just yet. Truck rides firm but planted. Super stoked with it the performance.

How are you getting center wheel hub to bottom fender at 25"? Stock OR is 21", and I got about 23.25" once settled on passenger. 23.5" after install with whatever springs the 6112s come with. 6th/5th notch. Is it because of the heavier spring? Also, clearing is one thing... but lift doesn't mean anything when stuffing tires.

 

I'm getting 25" from center of the wheel hub to bottom of top fender because of: setting 6112 on highest 6th notch and a big reason is King 700 lb coils! (would not recommend if no aftermarket weights up front like me).
The rear is Dakar HD leaf pack + overload leaf.

You gonna be adding a lot of weight? Is that why you changed? I noticed you regeared too which many don't do on 33's depending on weight they are running.

 

Man that's a nice fender gap in the front.

They DO! I added 650# coils and gained 3/4 of an inch.

 

I ordered the Bilstein 650lb springs (part # 53-291387) to replace the current King 700#. Debating whether to stay 6th or 5th notch. I want to drop to 5th notch but not 100% sure if it'll clear 285/70-17 with 0 offset wheels.

I wouldn't recommend 700lb without any front aftermarket weights/armors

 

I have 285/75/17 -12 offset with the 650s on 6/5. All clear other than CMC and minor Fender liner trimming

 

I bet it's a rough ride. I'm rolling sliders, skids, front bumper + winch. But to be honest I'm pretty stoked on the 650#. Rides like a caddy.

So let me refresh my memory... 6/5 meaning Max 6th notch on the driver side and 5th on the passenger side? and this would be same as 5th notch on both side for me with 1/4" spacer on the driver side?
