Have a '19 Rebel: https://www.mfcomics.net/post/remy-the-rebel, solid af and no issues, except Im considering downsizing as I don't tow with it despite being told I had to tow bobcat's and I miss driving stick (have an Audi, but wanna sell it as plan b would be get a manual weekend car)

Mods in the list, do offroad: https://www.mfcomics.net/post/off-roading-and-birthdays, and overall solid w/33k miles on it, only real issue I have is once in a blue moon the radio going out, otherwise knock on wood no issues.

Wonder who else has been in my situation?

Also diesel oil changes are much more frequent and expensive than gas oil changes.

I had two Cummins. Both treated me well. Both held there value and were both sold for more than what I paid for them.

What? I don't know, what do you think? The diesel has nothing to do with handling extra weight; diesel engines weigh more and reduce payload capacity compared to a gasoline engine. If you throw 1200 pounds of armor and gear (along with bigger tires and a lift) at a Ram 1500 I bet the mileage will suck just like on a Taco. If the Ram is what you want, buy it. At least get the Power Wagon though; the 1500 is just lame. Also, diesel motors are overrated in 1/2 ton pickups...

How you figure? I changed mine every 5,000 miles and cost me 50-60$.

Newer American trucks just don't last. Great trucks to lease and turn in after. Hop on any of the dodge, ford or chevy forums and you will see the nightmare of issues.

wrong, 10K oil change interval, 1 oil filter, 1 fuel filter every other oil change.

averaged 26.4 mpg at $0.10 / mile for 2019. 2020 is looking better.

my taco got 12 mpg. I miss the fun factor, but daily driving economy and comfort is more important for me lately.

Well I guess I'm full of shit - the local shops flyer was charging $90 for a diesel oil change vs $45 for full synthetic and those damn Australian youtubers were saying they change their diesel oil every 3k because of sludge from the diesel.

Why not a Dodge Ram is the question...

    The answer is quite obvious.

My parents were married to each other when I was born.
