I recently installed my Pioneer DMH-C5500NEX radio with a factory look by mounting it flush and milling out the smaller size bezel. I milled mine by hand on a router tableand it is not perfect. I'm thinking about buying a small CNC milling machine to do these perfectly. I don't want to drop the coin on the machine just to make one. Who would be interested in this if they were milled perfectly on a CNC mill? The modification to the radio mounting bracket was simple and I can share how to do that part. I suspect the new DMH-WC6600NEX will be the same size with wireless CP, AA and Alexa.

Man this looks excellent. How are you liking the 5500NEX? Did you swap out a JBL unit or was it a regular Entune radio?

If you can swap out a JBL unit without a ton of fuss for this radio I would be interested in a custom bezel.

Swapped out the JBL, you need a Maestro and all the adapter harnesses to make it work. the Original JBL bezel is too big so it leaves a gap around the radio. This head unit is leaps and bounds over the factory one. they also have the 6600nex coming soon that makes the screen 9" and has the Wireless AA and CP. I think it will be the same size as this one just has more screen and smaller touch buttons.

Do you lost any car functinality with the new pioneer head unit, like the doors, tire pressure etc, etc? Can you also mirror your phone to the unit without any extra harness? Looks super clean btw!

Where did you mount the brains of the radio? Isnt this one of those two piece setups where the screen is mounted and the dash and the rest is mounted elsewhere?

Yes but the brains are shallow enough to mount to the factory bracket with the screen. Ill take a picture later.

As long as you can retain the factory settings adjustments with the Maestro RR, Im definitely interested in this.

oh man take this advice from a machine shop owner but you're going to need to do more than just cut radio bezels to break even on whatever equipment you buy let alone tooling, electricity, etc
