The trick is welding the correct cams. I only did one per mounting point so I can still pull it apart

Are the Icon's right and left hand threaded for on vehicle adjusment? I'm gonna switch from my Total Chaos +2 to a camburg lt kit at some times and want heim'd but it looks like camburgs are just rh thread so you have to remove to adjust....wonder if i could just cut out the threaded ends and add lh threaded tubes to allow for on vehicle adjustment.

For regular heims, make yourself four of these out of 6” 14mm bolts and do the alignment yourself. I’ve done it a number of times now and checked my results on a laser rack. Comes out perfect, just had to take a little toe out after setting what I thought was 1/8”.

I used a digital angle finder, flat bar for the rim surface, a 20 degree cardboard template, soap stone for marking the floor, cut a 1/8 steel plate to press up against the tire to transfer the marks and used a few 1/8” floor tiles to get the garage floor perfectly level at all four corners.

If you had swivel plates available you could do an alignment in 30 minutes easy after removing the UCA bolt. I have to keep driving back and forth to settle out the suspension after each adjustment so it takes a while longer. Even with all that movement the cheater bolts stay put.

Picked up different ideas off @jberry813 ’s DIY alignment thread. I have solid mounted lowers. About to do it all over again after receiving the @81Trekker JD Fab LCA mount.

Yeah I had done that too. Makes it a lot faster than the through bolt. All thread and a few nuts works too

Post a step by step, or video. Are those to hold the UCAs?

Yup, the thought of pulling and stabbing the long UCA bolt through every time I made an adjustment was sickening to to even think about. So I imagined this solution and picked up the bolts from Fastenal and shaped them on a grinding wheel.

I’ll be doing it again in the next few weeks, but I’ll give you a call if you want in the meantime to explain better. Feel free to PM.

I’ll take pictures this next time with the intent to do a write-up.

For sure man thanks. I'll check that thread out and start working on those bolts.

Anyone know anything about a night run in silverado out by temescal in Corona tonight? Was driving through and saw about 40+ vehicles on the trial all with light bars on going up the mountain, huge group.

https://www.wheelalignmenttools.com/product/toe-plates/ these help sooooo much with driveway alignments. Way easier to set toe without marking up your tires, having to deal with tire flex, or setting up a string box. Tip: i replaced the standoffs they came with with slightly longer ones to account for the spacing of fat tire sidewalls and the thumb screws with those were plastic so i got metal thumb screws as well. Got them from mcmastercarr i think 2-2.5 inch ones in stainless 10-32 thread or something like that fit right up iirc A couple pieces of poster board or a couple plastic shoprite bags under the tires helps too so you don't always have to move the truck or bounce it around with very small adjustments just big ones

Those are pretty nice, might try to make something similar.
I’ve been spray-painting the tires and using the ‘nail in a board’ method to score a line. I use construction ground marking paint that comes off very easy. It’s definitely not ideal, but works.

Looks like the run had over 70 trucks and according to the IG post comments the cops showed up at one point. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CAJ2wzngN7d/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Hate to say it but this is another reason they may lock the gates up again. Thing is, the entrance to Bedford trail runs thru a neighborhood so 70+ trucks is probably gonna get some attention.

That is the opposite of my idea of fun! That’s not off-roading, just causing a fugging traffic jam on an FS road

Yeah I honestly thought it was a memorial run for someone or something, its all switchback most the way up and they were backed up a long ways, weird what some people consider fun. It was cool to see from the mountain, saw some up close video and it literally was a traffic jam.
