Went and found the only open beach/dunes I could in Oregon. No one else there, had both all to myself. IMG_3195.jpg IMG_3187.jpg IMG_3196.jpg

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Did you buy a mount of some type to attach your spare to the truck bed, or a DIY job? I need to do the same. Blew 2 tires on same day on a trip last year. Hate going under the truck for the spare.

It's just a ratchet strap holding on to the tire. Seems to be working ok. I've been pushing the limitations of the new the suspension and everything else in my bed to loose and making all sorts of noise when I hit big bumps. Thankfully the beer wasn't too shook up.

Looks great, nice pics. Spent a lot of time up at Harrison Lake. Fished Big Silver creek and Cogburn creek countless times. Great for fishing, driving, scenery, and swimming! An unbelievable swim to do, is about 200 yards up Cogburn creek where it flows in Harrison lake. The creek is very deep and slow flowing there. You can swim the last couple hundred, maybe few hundred yards down into Harrison lake. Freezing cold, but once in Harrison lake at the creek mouth, there are a number of hot water points where the hot springs bubble up into the lake. You can't see those spots, but you can feel them and great to hang out there. After a sweaty day of trekking up and down Big Silver and Cogburn, a great way to cool off.

I can't remember the exact spot, but there is a high mountain lake on the east side of Harrison lake. Tried getting to it once with my 1986 F150, that was back in 1988 or so. The trail was narrower than the truck. I drove over a mile up there, no turnaround. Had to back all the way down, and had about 150 deep scratches the length of the truck on both sides. Took 2 full days of rubbing compound then another day to wax it. Truck was only 1 year old at the time. Got about 70% of the scratches out. Live and learn...

Thanks! Was a lot of fun! Got some new rock chips and dented the skidplate, so not big deal. I was really careful not get pinstripes as some areas were pretty narrow. I did brush up against some leaves or thin branches, but all good. Washed her yesterday and paint looks great, big thanks to the ceramic coating.

I have been at at harrison maybe 6-7 times, so not that experienced yet. I havent been to the places that you mentioned, but will check them out, thanks. We were at a place called 5 mile bay. Its about 65 km UP from sasquatch inn, beautiful place man.

Planning to go again in couple weeks for my birthday with some other folks, cant wait!

Got out yesterday for some fishing at one of my remote spots. Well, pretty much every spot I have gone the last 30 years is remote. If there is another fisherman on the lake, I don't want to be there.

I have fished at this spot for 30 years now, and only twice have I seen another fisherman. Only once have I ever encountered another truck on the 50 miles of offroad to this spot. Last 3 miles is 4-lo. There is a spot to camp by the lake there, but it is seldom used as it is off the beaten path and there are so many larger lakes with easy access, that lakes like this are left alone.

Great weather yesterday. Only one bite, about a 2 pound rainbow that got off when it jumped. Did not care, such a nice day I am glad there were no other bites. Gave me time to just row the lake and enjoy nature. Large black bear on the road in, and at least 20 large fresh piles of moose scat.

Did a 37 mile, 7 hour off road drive around Mauna Kea Mountain averaging 9,000ft. This was my first real off road experience, there were a couple of sketchy moments around 19 mile marker where the wife and dog thought we should turn around because of a crazy wet rocky incline. I vetoed and was seriously impressed at what this truck can do in stock form...IMG_3878 2.jpg

Unfortunately can't. This is one of my secret spots. I took me about 5 consecutive years, maybe 10 trips, to finally find the road into this. Drove me mad trying to find this spot. Need to keep this very private. Not many spots like that around anymore.

Nice. Is that a volcano and is it still active?
