Just got back from a scoot and noticed the odometer, and realized that I’ve logged 1,300 miles on my first motorcycle.

It had 21,000 when I bought it.

Commuted to work today, first real day back in like two months. It was weird.

But also remembered how much I love booking it up the ramps in the parking garage :D

I’ve been wanting to get some touch screen-abled Gloves for nav duties on the bike but I couldn’t find any I liked. Rephrase: I couldn’t find any I liked that weren’t the exact thing I already had just with the touch screen fingertips. I wear Icon Pursuit gloves that I’ve had for years. The goatskin has held up great and they’re still in awesome shape. I bought them about 10 years ago and they didn’t have touch screen gloves. The new models do, but they’ve replaced the goat skin with synthetic leather that reportedly doesn’t age well. Did some google-foo and found “conductive thread” for under $10. Basically a wire mesh thread that transmits you bioelectric signal. You tubers stitches little stars on their winter gloves and it seemed to work pretty well. Got my thread in today and stitched a small node on my index finger and it works awesome!

TLDR: add touch screen sensitivity to your gloves with conductive thread.

Took a small scoot just because! Trying not to put too many more miles on before 1k service. She’s at 1050ish. Dealer is working limited hours.

Also, I think it was @GHOST SHIP who mentioned it, but my sporty comes with a spanner wrench! Attached to the bottom of the seat. Which is really crap by the way. Adjusted the shocks a little, We’ll see how she rides now.

do the work yourself? 1k service probably isnt much more than an oil change n making sure things arent loose.

Wasn’t me. Think it was @fatfurious2 he knows current sportys more than me. My last sporty was a 2010 and I didn’t get a spanner back then. That’s pretty cool though.

Maybe future oil changes. First bike, zero experience doing maintenance stuff. I’d like them to give it a once over. :notsure:

Opinions on a drz125L? Im sure ita reliable just doesnt have estart. But it comes in sub 200lbs because of that. Id imagine a 125 is stupid easy to kick too.
