Doubtful it's the oil pan, but maybe. Why didn't u get a rental from them? Aren't u still under warranty?

Yeah it seems like it was coming from above the pan. Once I get it back I'll clean it up really good and keep an eye on it. They didn't offer a rental and I just needed a ride home, not going anywhere today. My wife passes by there on her way to work so she can drop me off in the morning.

I always get the rental haha. It's nice to have a break on fuel. Drive a Corolla for a week and put 15$ in it lol.

They should be replacing the gasket, and removing and replacing all the RTV sealant.

I would just use the black Toyota rtv and no gasket. I use that stuff without gaskets on rear diffs, and oil pans with no chance of leaks. When u pry open a rear diff with black rtv it puts up a hell of a fight.

When I got mine home I checked it out and there was a little oil on the drain nut. Not sure if it was left over or still leaking. I removed my skid plate cleaned everything up super good and I'll keep an eye on it.

Sucks to have oil leaks, i stressed out about my 97 4runner leak. I litterally spent hours replacing every possible area it might have been leaking from and hopeing it wasnt the rear main seal. My 4runner is leak free l, i hope my 2019 tacoma stays that way also.

i would check it every 2 or 3 days and focus on the black bracket looking thing above the pan. if you see oil coming from there take a pic before it travels down to the pan gasket edge. hopefully no leak.

    UPDATE

Went to Bellevue Toyota, determined its either the upper oil pan leaking onto the rear main seal, or the main seal. They plan to pull the motor incase it's the upper oil pan, and then if it's not they will then do the rear main seal. Should be done Saturday next week.

Provided me with a loaner, 2020 TRD offroad premium 6ft bed. This thing only has 100 miles on it! The power seat is so nice, very comfortable vs my 19s seat (not enough to trade it tho). I seriously want to steal these led headlights. 20200514_105551.jpg 20200514_105513.jpg Impressed w Bellevue Toyota for hooking me up with a new truck for the next week and a half.

Nice! I have nothing but good things to say about micheals toyota of Bellevue.

That being said be careful with that loaner haha they want you to like it and trade yours in!

You clean it and then monitor it. You can get false positives from a leaking oil pan gasket weeping back and up onto the bell housing from wind.

or take it to the dealer.

Why wouldn't they put UV dye in the oil first and find the source of the leak before pulling the motor???

Idk? I'm not going to drive it for a few weeks and then go back again. They were not suprised it had a leak in one of those two areas, the advisor said it's not common but not uncommon.
