TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Yep, I gernaded an engine driving like that for too long of time.

Can't just tap off the circuit, because it should always be hot. If the pump goes out, then you won't know. There was some talk of a flow switch, which I like. But also @Roostfactor turned me onto the Davatron intercooler temperature differential gauge. So far it looks really good in the box. Can't wait to install it.

 

That was my thought with the pump as well. Other than the intercooler temp gauge I figured maybe a water temp gauge for that system or possibly a small psi gauge like for a carb for example. you'll only care if it reads 'zero'. Just some things I thought of before I add a supercharger to my daily.

 

Ok now. Anyone have ideas on this new problem...
Moved my intake to a cooler area to try and help my IAT’s and now the truck won’t idle at all. Loads up and dies without throttle input and doesn’t seem to clear up until above 3500rpm. Thought it was MAF so I cleaned it with no luck, then went and bought a new one and it’s no better with the new sensor. I’m stumped. Nothing changed except the location of the air filter. No codes either. Reset the battery and tried reflashing my last tune as well.

I am gonna put together just that, a simple diode in-line with a housing to drill into the dash or panel somewhere.

 

did a vacuum line get bumped? The two after the throttle body on the plenum intake will kill the engine like that.

 

Double checked that and there are no vacuum line issues.

new log has been taken and sent over your way and my supercharger coolant reservoir is no longer making a disgusting mess thanks to @mightytacoman I'm ready (and long overdue) to regain the power I have lost again.

Seriously. I didn’t even know you could put it in backwards lol. Isn’t air flow across the sensor, just air flow across the sensor? Well thanks again. There was enough material and scrap to re-orientate that tube around and keep the filter out more in the wheel well. Logs tomorrow will tell how much it really helps IAT’s.
