    Hi guys
Just acquired a RTT from a buddy. Currently have a Leer canopy which I don’t think can take the weight of the RTT and me without reinforcements.
Just wondering if anyone has ever done a slide out RTT? Basically the tent would be on a bed drawer type thing
    Thanks

Well apparently a standard Leer 100r canopy can support about 200lbs. The RTT weighs about 40-50 and I weigh 210. I’d hate to mount it on the canopy and get a wake up call breaking through the canopy. So basically I reinforce the canopy from the inside or build a slide out rtt shelf. Also doesn’t help that with my 4” lift I have under 2” of clearance to get into my parkade. Hence the RFI of this conundrum lol

That 200lbs is the dynamic weight limit (when driving). What RTT weighs 50lbs?

I run a 120lb tent on my leer shell and sleep with my family in it no problem...that's another 400ish lbs with the bedding and people on plus the weight of the tent.

Well I know my rtt isn’t 120 because I can easily lift it and move it myself. It’s just awkward because of the size. What kind of leer is it?

It's a Leer 100xr with tracks, a Thule rack, and an IKamper x-cover.

You should be able to find the weight of your RTT on the manufacturer's website.

Yeah but it’s second hand and a bit old. I think it’s a Leer 100r

I built a 2*4 frame to go on the inside of my ARE topper. Isn't that hard, but it looks a bit weird. I'd vote for reinforcing the topper.
