It isn't negated per say. It is just lower output. The very high color temp of the white light will not perform as well in poor weather conditions as a selective yellow temp. And Rigids selective yellow versions are higher in output than using the cover over the white version.

You haven't tested any of the SRM (SR-M?) series lamps, correct? Per my uneducated eyes, it appears that the SRM series is what Toyota selected for the Pros, but in SAE compliance. I'm curious if the non-SAE model would have more output.

I’ve only tested the TRD Pro SAE SR-M, as covered in the thread. I have not tested the non-TRD version. The TRD version uses a unique fad optic to shift the color from the upper vertical to the lower vertical beam, as shown in the thread. I believe the standard Rigid SR-M is just plain white.

I picked up these Morimoto Amber LED fogs and are super happy with the wide beam and light output.

I really like the amber fogs! How do you feel about the Mori performing equal/better than stock fogs?

You can see my review in post #558 here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...fog-light-review.554813/page-28#post-19408787

Stock fogs will have more area coverage. Actual light output is less than stock, but the coverage area is smaller so the light is more concentrated so it doesn’t seem as less as the numbers would imply.

I would love to upgrade my fog lights - I’m looking at the Rigid lights as well and I have two questions...

    1. I’m looking at the Rigid D series pro amber pod lights SKU: 504814 and the Tacoma mounting kit... am I looking at the correct parts for my 2018 Toyota Tacoma?

    2. Does anyone have access to a discount on these babies?? I’m looking at $414 for the lights and mounting kit, can anyone help a girl out??? :)

I love this forum and have been lurking for a year now, this is a jackpot of information!! Thanks in advance!!

Check out this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-led-sae-j583-fog-pod-fog-light-review.554813/ Specifically the Diode Dynamics SS3 linked at the top.

The Rigid Selective Yellows are great performing pods, but the Diode Dynamics SS3s are higher output with larger pattern area and offer an OEM mounting solution for a super clean install while also being over $100 cheaper. And the SS3s are made in the USA.
