That is fair. I only used them for about 2 weeks just before Christmas 2019, as they came with the truck. I put some winter nokian hakkapeliitta lt3 studded on for my alcan/Alaska highway trip. I still have the brand new grabbers sitting down south right now. Might sell them. I do like them, just not in the snow. I just can’t get to them right now. They are the red letters vs the more common white letters.

if there is anyone in cow town YYC that might be interested a set of 270/75/18 grabbers send me a message. We might be able to work a deal.

If you replaced the spring and end bearings why not the center Bearing… you were right there?
this is how I explain it…

    steel rollers = freight train
    Nylon = subway

not sure why you wouldn’t replace with a belt if you were looking for quite. Imo a screw is about the same if not marginally quieter than a chain but that will also be dependent on the brand/model. Some chains can actually be pretty quite too but again it’s dependent on brand/model. Also on how tight (it will slap) or loose (it will drag) the chain is plays a big part

sadly the aux fuse box isn't wired up in any way shape or form. that first image is a dry fit and the second is just the relay connected straight to the battery. but hey, the 16 foot harness worked out just fine!
    :anonymous:

only the relays are rivnuted into place and the rest of the panel is empty. I haven't been able to get my hands on cut-to-length 1/0 or #2 to actually wire this system up.

    it's all smoke and mirrors:rofl:

The screw drive is actually pretty quiet. I had a belt drive at the previous house, and this is about the same. And it was on a pretty good sale, which also helped.

I’m sure it may seem that way just trying to recall the sound from your previous home but I would almost bet money on it. Belt is replacing screw, at least liftmaster stopped making them. As with all technology, the newer systems keep getting better and better than the previous models. Even options for the quieter dc motors are a huge difference

So did you get an older model screw liftmaster, chamberlain or please don’t tell me you got a genie? If so, you got a deal on it so run it till it dies but doNt put a nickel into it for repairs.

    So I’ve done a few things!:transformer:
Vinyl inlays for the door sill’s, dummy warnings on the visors and shifter, 3D letters for the glove box, vinyl reflective letters for the grill. Not sure if I like the door sill inlays, they sorta look cheap cuz well, they are just high quality stickers;) plus I’m worried they will just get wet from snowboard or hiking boots and just slip off, maybe I’ll try the 3D raised ones I’ve seen out there:thumbsup: Now all my trim is red except the steering wheel emblem, radio knobs and the door handles:D

I also relocated the spare tire bracket so I can fit the new Cooper ST MAXX 255/85/16’s I have coming a lil more comfortably  Tires get installed the 22nd. I can’t wait! I’ll have to remove the mud flaps!(at least the front ones)
    :yay:

Thinking about getting the lomax tonneau cover (I got the roll your eyes ok look from the wifeo_O) while I save up for some sliders and then a really nice topper and then maybe a Decked system:p:cool:

Chamberlain. It's the newer generation with the wifi capability. And it really is pretty quiet. Just some motor noise. The garage door is much louder. And I don't try to repair those things (except the remotes, they're cheap). It costs more in parts than it does to just get a new one. I don't use it much anymore with drive way parking. The Taco barely fits with the tool box and accumulated wood working stuff. Wood workshop to the basement and a shed under our raised deck will let me garage park. Like Taco mods, house mods never end.

I didn’t know chamberlain was still making screw drive in new models. I just assumed I guess since they are both made by the same (chamberlain is the diy consumer grade while liftmaster being the professional grade)

I can’t park in my tiny 1 car either but I am able to pull in halfwY to get out of the sun so at least there’s that. I hear ya on the house mods… I’m re doing my whole front yard currently so I haven’t done anything to the taco in at least a month (unfortunately this includes a wash).

Things may have changed. The purchase was about 15 months ago. My wife has the parking privileges for the garage, but I have conversion rights for my use (provided I move her car...) I do the same, pull half way in and do what I need to do. That may include paint protection this summer since we have a south facing asphalt drive way in VA. It get a little warm.

As for house mods, when the wife gets back to work, elevated deck extension with stair relocation, basement, outdoor seating area, and maybe a small outdoor kitchen set up for the smoker I have and grill I want to get. Time will tell how that plays out.
