Stumbled upon this...pretty neat 3d printed model of a crawlbox setup.

Hey guys, just joined the crawl box club and it's already started leaking. I didnt do it myself, so I have to admit I'm no pro, but I like to think I'm not clueless. I had Wyatt at RST put it in and the seams between all the pieces are gooped and sealed, but this seam isn't. At first I thought maybe I was just breaking it in as the leak stopped, but I took it for another quick run and it started leaking again. It looks like @hoverlover's, except it seems to stop after a short while? I contacted Wyatt, but I'd like to see what you guys have to say

Yeah that leak sucked ass to fix. And it only got worse. They were skimpy AF with the sealant on mine.

Break it down, scrape both sides clean, polish with steel wool, apply sealant as recommended by the instructions around the bolts and follow the curve where it drops downward on the rear plate for good measure. Took me 3 or 4 full break-downs and 4 or 5 times dropping it from the truck to get all the leaks. Although the majority of my problems were at the trans/crawlbox, I had to deal with that one at least twice.

Be careful around the bolts on the clocking plate. Too much sealant and the bolts won't seat properly in the plate. Too little and you'll be doing it again.

Did you get a Frankenbox, too?

If I paid a professional shop (RST) a good chunk of $$ for the part and install, than that shop better re-do it for FREE. That's all I have to say.

Yeah, he warranties his work, so it looks like it may be going back. I just don't look forward to the 8 hour drive. Which brings me to my next question, is this driveable or should I just keep it to going around town?

I'll have to check again in the morning, but how would I tell? Look for an inchworm logo on the adapter?

It's drivable. It's going to spray oil all over underneath and look like a bigger leak than it is. I drove from NC to TX after my install with two leaks and got home with 1.5 of 2 quarts still in it.

This was after my first fuel stop on the way back home.

It's definitely from MC with inchworm adapter with MC 4.7, RST won't install any engraved TG parts. MC somehow got access to super old inchworm stocks.

Can you post up pics of the whole box? There are some very knowledgeable people in this thread, surely they'll be able to identify it.

That's how I found out my Inchworm-marked adaptors were from Trail Gear, my box was Inchworm, and Marlin says it's their gears.

I'll post up a picture of the whole unit and how much leaked tomorrow morning. Right now itd be a bad flashlight picture. Hopefully by then I'll hear back from Wyatt, but I like hearing from you guys as well.

The oil leaking out always looks much worse that it is.

Stick a pan under it overnight and see how much you get.

Earlier today it got to about 1.5-2 inches then stopped entirely, I just threw a piece of cardboard under there earlier tonight. If it's any more noticeable tomorrow I'll have to start measuring.

Sorry I should have said in diameter on the ground, so not too much. That was the first time I noticed it.
