Made a box to keep tucked up under the tonneau cover. Mostly just preparing for winter, and I plan on keeping some sand bags in there. May not need too many sand bags though...this beast weighs about 90 pounds by itself!

Took about 2.5 hours from raw materials to finished product.

Both the uca and the shock? Very nice!

What gave you a hard time about the drivers side? The battery?

We did the UCAs and COs both sides up front, did an AAL and Resi shocks in the rear, then I ran it to the dealership to get new tires mounted (sale! buy 3 get 1 free any model they carry, which happens to include KM2s!), then to my alignment guy.

I'm exhausted. I still need to trim tomorrow along with installing a longer rear-diff breather relocation hose.

The trouble with the driver's side suspension is mounting the UCA - when reinstalling the main mounting bolt from the rear, there is a bitch of a clearance issue with fuel lines. I eventually solved it by starting the tip of the bolt into the UCA bushing, then grabbing the fuel lines with both hands and squeezing bloody hard to keep them out of the way while my buddy worked the bolt head by and thread the UCA mount.

It worked, but I was a hair worried about kinking one of the fuel lines...I had to squeeze that hard.

Oh great that's what I get to look forward to. I wonder if it would be any easier to install it the way it was stock and just hammer the crap out of it.

Thanks for letting me know about the deal on tires. I'm going to check that out. Funny enough I'm in the market for the same tires as you.

I think this was just my local dealership, but hey, can't hurt to ask.

We considered going back in the stock way on the driver UCA, but it had it's own challenges...there was a bracket in the way that had to be unbolted and pushed aside for clearance when removing, and when getting the pivot bolt out of the OEM UCA, we had to work it past the remaining fender by banging it out with a hammer and 1/4" socket extension. That was pretty much a one way trip.

It's gonna suck, but look at it this way: Once you're done with the front, the hard part's over. We did the rear this morning starting at 8:30 and were done at 11:00, including cleanup. Rear's a cinch.

I remember hearing something on the radio about the tire deal so I'm going to call them up.

Didn't you have to take the bracket out to remove the bolt? I took it out so I didn't squish the wires. A big long extension is a must to remove the bolt. I was just worried about hitting the lines right there by mistake.

I'm glad the rear is easy I'm going to do that tomorrow.

    sweet.

question, why did you go with the square stuff, instead of pipe, like most other people?

*wondering because I want to build something, but can't get pipe local, only smaller square pipe*

oh yea, that's another reason for me and making a bumper/light bar...no pipe bumper.

correct!!! that and it seems to be tougher than 1 3/4" pipe... square is definitely more rigid and takes a harder impact

i was going for the plate look but also the ap hybrid look...

plus it was mostly left over from when i made my sliders, so most material was paid for and they match the sliders... so far the bumper has been a total investment of $30 lol
