Are there any machinists on here who can run a mill if I give them a design? I am trying to find someone to make something for me not specifically Tacoma related but important for one of my vehicles.

I'm trying to change the rear shock spring on my Super Tenere but I need a 10mm spacer ring made to sit on the ES shock. If anyone is local to central Ohio, bonus. Otherwise, let me know if you think you can help me out.

That part would be better to run on a lathe. Some billet aluminum would work but do you have a specific material you want to use? I'm assuming those dimensions are in MM?

Sorry, I'm completely dumb when it comes to the major differences in machines that make things. If it's not a welder, a 3D printer, or a regular printer, I'm a know-nothing. Billet aluminum has the shear strength required for the pressures the spring would be under for full compression, so yep, that sounds right. And those are definitely in MM.

it's all good. how fast are you looking to get these done? would + or - 1MM be an ok tolerance for these?

It's a spacer ring that acts as a perch for a spring on the rear shock of a motorcycle, so you can put a slightly shorter spring on it as very few people make the appropriate length spring. So like, if you were replacing the springs on your front struts, that bit that acts as a base for the spring? That's what this is but for a motorcycle. I am not sure if 1mm here or there might make a huge difference, but it might in terms of the actual shoulder diameter.

I ordered a spring that didn't require the spacer. Not my ideal but better than waiting

ok. I was going to look around for material but it sounds like you're squared away.

I appreciate you, man. Apparently race tech makes springs that don't require a spacer or collar for my shock, although they don't list my bike as compatible officially.
