    Hey @mattgecko.

Just discovered this discussion, and am really interested in buying this. I'm sure you've heard this a 1000 times before, but I'm a little unsure about the wiring. I've got some limited experience in doing wiring, but like many others, not 100% sure about it.

May I please request to look at the electronic instructions? This way I can look at the instructions and decide if I wanna "dive off into the deep end" with this. I've read the reviews on your website, and seen the installation video in the post. Looks relatively simple, but I do want to make sure I feel comfortable doing this.

    Thanks in advance!

It is simple and Matt provides great instructions to get you through this. I took my time only cause I was running my tailgate lock.

For those who have watched the install video and have concerns about the wiring dont stress too much. I am still a novice at wiring but have done all wiring on my truck myself all through self learning and lots of reading and youtube videos. From what I saw in the video; the hardest part will be the self tapping screw and hiding another fuse in my engine bay (good thing I have a blue sea fuse box coming). Best advice I see is to take your time. I plan to order one in a couple weeks and would be happy to help any that I can.

Install is quite easy, I also am running a Blue Sea fuse box and breaker for the additional connections. I still haven't mounted my hood lights but I should have time tomorrow. I'll clean up the fuse block wiring as I left the excess wiring in case I need to do some additional wire routing. I mounted my switch in a different part of the bed and the ground also in a different location on the crossbar at the end of the frame rail. Came out well.

Thanks! Now I just finished the hood lights. I will have to say, don't do this if you are in a rush, you'll see why in my last pic. I ran the power wires inside the driver side hood panel and routed by the hood hinge and under the cover. I used tesa tape and wrapped the wire to make a friction fit for the wire under the hood supports. Ran it under the fender panel and mounted the switch in the blank hole by the headlight, perfect fit there. Used the leftover wire from the bed kit and used that to wire up to the Blue Sea fuse block for positive connection. Used the factory ground bolt for the ground, I stripped an inch off the ground wire that is paired with the red wire and folded it over 4 times to make it thick enough to crimp on the ring terminal I used for the ground. Tied everything up and connected main power. All good except for my applying the actual lights. Like I said, don't rush and have someone help you line them up. I cussed myself out when I looked from the side, but I got my lights in there. I had to rush as I work in about 2 hours from this post.

Love how it turned out. Price is well worth the kit. Now I want to look into adding an additional button inside the cab to turn the lights on in case I cannot reach the button in the bed.

Yesterday I wired up the Bed and Under hood lighting kit. Came out real slick. I added in a ground button switch I bought off eBay so the lights turn on as soon as I drop the tailgate and pop the hood. Also wired the manual switch on the power side to turn them on and off manually. I’ll edit in some better photos in the night time.

Here’s the ground Switches I used.

Looks good, man... thanks for sharing. Did you have to drill holes for your ground switches?

for the one in the tailgate area yes, as well as a hole for the manual on off switch. I also had to pull the brake light out to access the wiring. For the hood area I used an existing hole and only had to drill the mounting hole for the hardware bolt. I was able to use my Gopro with live view and close the hood before mounting it to determine that it was infact long enough to contact the hood when closed to break the ground connection. So far both switches have been working flawlessly. We'll see how long they hold up.

Thinking of getting the bed and hood kits, but curious how folks who've installed them like them after long-term use. I like the idea of the custom multi-color units, but are they more for display and less functional? How easy/difficult is it to swap out a line of lights when they need replacing?

Thanks in advance for the advice.
