That actually looks really good. Can the blue on capacitive buttons be changed to a color closer to OEM?

Just to verify: You ordered the T9, not the PX6? It ships with 8.1? Last question: front camera support? Thanks. May actually replace my Daisata with this one just because of the support.

That does not look like it fits very well.

I'm not sure how you end up with something other than the Dasaita here. Perfect fit, plug and play, good function, and ~$300.

I believe he milled out the radio bezel by hand to get it to fit.

The unit looks amazing! Really plug and play? No custom fitting on the dash?

I think alot of people, including myself, are put off by the lack of manufacturer support for the android units and as well as reading about their issues that arise after each update.

For the right bezel it fits perfectly. For mounting some folks bend up the OEM bracket or there's a custom bracket that can be had on Shapeways.

Daisata does what they can for support, but it looks like they're using Google Translate, so..... With that said, there is a large thread on here where we've all done a ton of trouble-shooting.

In my experience, the headunit works 95% great. I tend to get very irritated with crap like this, and I really like the headunit. The last two updates I installed were fine. The last one? Not so much. There was another release shortly after that I'm about to try later today. I'm hoping it's fixed the bazillion issues I'm having.

My experience with any of this is, if it is working well, don't update it.

In order to replace the factory Entune unit you basically two choices, still maintaining factory steering wheel controls and head unit controlled canbus settings:

Pioneer/Kenwood (and other name brand variation) that support the iDataLink architecture (typically a Maestro RR control unit) - $900-$1200 depending on your choice of head unit some of these can look factory, with a little bit of bezel tweaking.

Android head unit that supports Canbus (two most common are Dasita 9 with PX5 or PX6 rockchip and Joying) - $350-$500 All three options here are Android 8 or Android 9 based. All are direct fit and look stock, but with bigger screens. All are a little quirky when running a lot of apps in the background. If running just one or two apps, they work fine. I have personally used both the PX5 and PX6 Dasita units - the DSP in the PX6 is far superior to the PX5 - both sound considerably better than the stock Entune head unit. You can achieve wireless carplay with both the PX5 and PX6 units, and wired Android Auto. You can control the vehicle settings in both the PX5 and PX6 units. You can get an HDMI out on the PX6 unit for secondary monitors. Any app you can put on an android tablet will run on the either android unit. These units plug straight into the factory harness....no splicing of wires.

It all comes down to how much money you wish to invest in your audio upgrade. I personally really like the Pioneer units, as they are solid and perform their functions very well. However the Android head units are very flexible and offer a considerable upgrade for less than half the money of a comparable Pioneer unit. Both installs are pretty straight forward, and if you buy your name brand unit from Crutchfield, they provide you all the necessary guidance. On a 1-10 install scale, the Android units are a 1-2 and the name brand units with the maestro rr interface are a 5-6.

Is the iDatalink set up better than the Canbus setup?

I love the design and idea of the dasaita. I had one in my tundra for a while. I prefer XM radio though and only use AA for navigation.
