    comming soon!
    Hi folks,

Had Duratracs 265/75/16's installed about 800mi ago and I really like the tires however, I've had the truck back at the shop 4 times since purchased to get the tires re-balanced (road force 3 times). I have an annoying "wobble" from 40mph on up. The Techs told me that there is some radial run-out on all 4 tires which "could" be causing the problem.
The Discount Tire I went to finally told me this past Friday the tires were a POS and I should have bought something else. Now I'm just pissed as I really want to run this tire as it suits my needs perfectly (hunting, light offroad, snow, ect) and it seems like a really good compromise between a true all-terrain and a mud tire.
Anybody have a similar experience? Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Mike

I've been back several times too for balancing. My regular tire shop doesn't do road force though. They just kept adding weight to the rims (the rears were up to around 6 or 7 oz each!) I just went and had the road force balancing done for the first time this last Thursday...hoping it will do the trick. And they were able to pull off about half of the weights so that made me happy to start with.

I've got a little over 1200 miles on mine so far.

discount tire techs are HORRIBLE ! , they have decent prices for tires but i would never have them install them. Go either to a toyota dealership or Just Tires is really good for installations

lol, you'd think right ? Nope. I think the qualifications necessary for the job are different. For discount tires you just have to read and have two hands and for every other place you have to have common sense.

A fellow coworker had the exact same problem on his truck. He wasn't at all impressed with the tire

    chunk? what is chunk?

What kind of truck? If he had these tires - possibly load C - on a full size truck he could expect to be disappointed.

I had this same issue until I rotated front to back and put about 3k mi on them. Now no issues at all. Super happy.

    Try that if you haven't.

Roland, I have ruled out the DT. I have heard they chunk as well. My shop told me that they hate rocks. After the pictures of you showed me that is the terrain that I go on, maybe not as bad but I come across sharp rocks. I am considering now Grabber AT2s( my buddy loves them) and the Goodyear MTR Kelvars.

Just have duratracs put on last night.. They seem fine under 60mph, but above that there is a wobble feeling in the steering wheel.. Im not on the highway much, so as long as it isnt hurting anything, i can live with it for the looks of the tires alone..
