Cooper Discoverer A/T3 megathread?

Yes they are the same as the original A/T 3 they just dont have the lastets compound and tread updates that the AT3 4S and XLT have

 

Apparently 235/70r17 is an unusual size...lol. Found exactly one offering, thanks for the help

 

Does anybody have a lot of miles on a set of the AT3 4S? Just curious how they’re holding up at higher mileages?

 

Wanting to know if anyone is running 265/75 16 on their Gen 2 Tacoma with factory mudflaps still attached, any rubbing?

 

I have almost 50k on my 4S's, and nearly 2 years of owning them as I bought them just as they came out in 2018. Still measuring somewhere around 9/32nds with plenty of blocky tread left. Maybe slightly noisier after 45k or so but still quieter than my stock tires were at 25k when I replaced them with the 4S's. Still handle corners superbly and stick to wet pavement super well. Literally the best tires I've ever owned as a solid all-around tire that wears slowly and performs well. Will easily get 60-70k out of them if I want to and I'm kind of hard on tires driving a lot in the Appalachian region. Even with tread left, I generally end up swapping them by 30-40k due to degradation in handling performance. Not so with these.

 

Mine came off on a trail, but I think it would be pretty close. Most people report rubbing. I even pulled off the little spats from the front bumper that hang in front of the wheels cause those looked close too.

That’s encouraging. Just got mine on but came from stock Dunlop 245’s to these and wet traction is noticeably improved. Used to, I could break the tires loose in the wet on command. Now, the truck just grips and goes.

 

That’s great! Do they throw rocks bad? I’m thinking the 4S would be perfect on my moms 5th gen 4Runner in 265/70/17 (stock size).

 

Brand new they would hold onto a few small pebbles until you got up to speed on the highway, but as they’ve worn they aren’t catching many rocks anymore. It’s not terrible by any means but that’s probably the only imperfect thing about these tires and even this is minor

 

I apologize if this has been asked. I got my 265/75R16s installed and now the TPMS light is on.

My question is, do you all run them at the Toyota recommended pressures or something else and i shouldn't have gotten new sensors?

At the moment, I'm not towing anything and for the most part, the truck (2014) is used on the road.

 

The shop probably broke one of your sensors unless you are running super low pressures.

 

Either your spare just happened to start running low at the exact time this got done, or they busted one of your sensors. Take it back to them.

 

Yes. Wheels are FN Offroad Countersteer's 16x8 0 offset/4.5" back spacing with 5100 stock offroad springs at third notch up but they have settle to where I may only be seeing 1-1 1/4" of lift. Have ran them with front mud flaps off but was tired of my doors and side windows covered with road spray. Have not had any rubbing.

 

Installed Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT (load range C) LT265/75-16 date code 0120. Tires have 3 peak snowflake symbol. No rubbing anywhere, plenty of clearance. Tires are quiet on highway, Prinsu rack makes more wind noise.

 

Just installed—-no rubbing, plenty of room. Tires are the LT ones using 3rd gen OR wheels. See my post in this section.

Edit: I do have 5100s all around with front set @ .85–which increases my height 1”. As you can see from pic, that wouldn’t matter.

 

on my 2011 AC, chalk test came out to about 28psi.
No TPMS isues

 

Love these tires and they are so quiet on the road. The step up to 285's killed my MPG but that's the cost for the looking good.

 

How bad was it? I’m about to make the jump as well.

Loss of about 2mpg. I would average 20-21 at 65mph went down to 18-18.5mpg. I use a scan guage for consistency.

 

Looks sharp! The Pro Comp Series 29 looks really good in 16-inch.
