Interesting thanks for explaing that. Do you have any idea what would cause the boost numbers to go up so much? I guess that's what's got me confused

    My shit is all stock.
I figured that might be the case. Pressure cooker. And he claims that he saw more boost after doing the cam gears. That, and what Kiel at Kelford was saying was saying when we were doing the group buy has me wondering...

    upload_2020-5-14_11-40-29.jpg

I suppose one could simply flip the cam gear over to go the other way...

TRD sport with tow package and mine needed the stepped pulley. Thought I had the flat one and couldn't tell until I pulled the stock one off. Of course nst shipped me the flat one.

Hmmm, so sounds like the heat and pressure are related.. but the extra heat didnt cause the increased boost pressure? Im having a hard time wrapping my head around this one:confused:

This is interesting, especially since cam gears are on my to do list for this weekend. Any other supporting information you've seen on this?

Yessir. At least that's the prevailing proof based on my nonfunctional to now functional again intercooler setup.

I used to hit about 10.5 with the 2.5 pulley as well. The 2.3 put me up to an average of 11.5 to max 12. Now the cam gears have bumped me up yet again to 13.3ish.

Do you have cam gears? Part of me thinks that the cam gears still bump boost even if there is no restriction in the engine.

    Interesting thoughts here.

 your tuning intuition proved to be spot on.

    :D

    Interesting.
    I have the cam gears.
They retard exh valve timing 3° which keeps exh valve open later to help evacuate the cylinder.
Stock the exh cam closes too early creating a built in egr system.

Hot air expands (less density) and cool air contracts (more density).

BUT, since the heated air from the sc has nowhere to go (sealed system vs a baloon which would expand) the heated air (as proven) did increase boost pressure.

    I learned something new today.

As did I. (except yesterday)

It's CRAZY how much my boost dropped off as soon as my IC system became fullly functional again.

No wonder I wouldn't hear the system cycling while the truck was off every here and there.

Took a couple days off work to hang with the family. Gonna hopefully get the xrunner done this month. Wife and kids are heading to Tennessee with family so I got free time. Here’s today. Good thing I got the winch in. 326A9A89-4DFA-4451-A145-F56FE2CE9643.jpg
