    I'm looking to install an overhead console in my 2010 SR5 4x4 2.7l

    According to this thread (http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...elp-overhead-console-temp-compass-install.html)getting a 2009-2010 console is not plug and play for the 4 cylinder like it is for the 6 cylinder. In post 34 some guy posted the following on how he got it to work on his 4 cylinder:

    Same problem..I did order from http://www.*********************/ a 8879022131-GRN270 (Toyota Tacoma Ambient Temperature Sensor, 4.0L (05- ) US$ 12.23 . After desambling under roof connector and well isolate yellow wire (pin #5). I did install a new wire in Pin #5 and #6 (just under pin #1). Both wired wer connected to the temp. sensor placed near the original , in the front of the truck.And work fine.

    Desambling? well isolate? :confused:

    I have no idea what he is saying - tried PMing and emailing him but no answer.

    Any guesses what this means?

    I am guessing he meant to write ,,,,,

    "After removing overhead console (v6 models), locate the connector and identify pin #5.

    After 15 years (not as a student :cool: .... as an educator) of elementary education I have learned to read phonicly.

    desambling = disassembling

    well = I believe he may be referring to some box of sorts (I don't have this option so I am just guessing.

    wer = were

    This is the best that I can do.

    Upon disassembling the unit, locate the electrical connector and identify the yellow wire (pin #5). Install one wire each into pin # 5 and pin #6 and connect these two wires to the two wires on the temp sensor that can be mounted near the OEM location at the front of the truck.

    Best guess...
