Hey guys, not sure if this is the appropriate place for this question - if not please feel free to shout me down....but, I'm in the market for a new 2020 DCSB OR MT.

I've been talking to a dealer about one that I found through autotrader (these things are RARE!) and am getting quoted in the mid 33K range (prior to TTL) after active duty rebate, cash back, costco pricing, etc. Truck has been sitting for quite a while.

What're your thoughts? Decent deal? I'm realistic enough to know I'm not going run away from dealer with a steal on this truck and to be honest, given the fact that my dad's '96 is still trucking along with almost no repairs and with 300k miles in the rearview....this feels like more of an investment than anything. I'm willing to spend money - just not "too much," whatever that is. Curious what you all think about if this is reasonable. Thanks!

BTW - region is the midwest, dealer is a major Toyota dealer with what appears to be high volume from some internet searching.

202 Manual TRD Sport, Dblcab, shortbed, Quicksand 32,094, just under 35k after ttl, signed deal on Sunday expect the truck to arrive tonight or tomorrow. They had to bring it in as it was a search to find what I wanted!

What was the MSRP and the actual offer from the dealer? Do you know what options it has? "Mid 33k" for a OR sounds good, but more details would help people give a better opinion.

Looks like just the tech package plus the off road package from dealer comments. I'm not super familiar with the packages TBH, but pics look fairly basic. Just a raw truck

**edit: MSRP was 35,850 and offer is 32,784. That's assuming they'll apply AD rebate as well as Cosco rebate.

So you are at 8.5% off MSRP. Not a killer deal, given average 10%-13% people seem to report on this thread, but dealer inventory is drying up. If you are really looking for the best deal, then I'd shop around some more and expand your search area. Also buying towards the end of the month seems to help too. If this truck checks a lot of boxes for you and you don't feel your settling or panic buying, then it might be worth pulling the trigger on this one. Maybe hit them back with a number to get you closer to that 10-13% off. Just my 2 cents.

That MSRP sounds low to me, when I look at TRD OR DCSB MT on the toyota site the MSRP starts at 35,335 before I add any packages. Once you add Tech package ($700), and if it has the LED lights ($485), youre closer to an MSRP of 36,600. And then I _think_ you're supposed to consider the destination fee as part of the MSRP, so another $1095 puts you closer to $37,600. If you ask the dealer for a spec sheet I think they'll give you one with all of the packages and destination fee and a "total" MSRP number. You just have to be on the lookout there for dealer added accessories (as I don't think they should factor into MSRP). It's possible I have this wrong though :D

If you run the math with an MSRP of $37,600 your percentage is going to be higher, and might be closer to a reasonable deal. I got a similar truck (w/ only LED) for ~32.5k w/ and MSRP of 37,XXX in the PNW region a few months ago (when the cashback was only 1000).

Also as an aside, shoutout all the posts that are just "XXX OTD" for helping nobody learn anything :facepalm:pre-tax, pre-license pricing and discounts or gtfo.

Depending where in the midwest; you might want to try contacting Village Pointe Toyota in Omaha. Just flew out there Friday to pick up a DCSB Sport 4x4 MT; MSRP was $37.7k; and final sale price before TTL was $31.5k.

I got my dealer down on a Cement with this exact package to 40200 on just the car, at cost tint, and split the shipping of the truck to me.

San Jose dealers (Stevens Creek) weren't budging on MSRP anymore than the other dealers in the area, unfortunately.

I had a dealer in the Seattle area quote $35.8k for a TRD OR 6MT with an MSRP of $37.6k, so out the door would have been a touch over $40k. I was surprised though, they didn't negotiate at all, said they "examined market conditions" and this was the price they had and I'm welcome to go elsewhere. Didn't expect that sentiment this early after the downturn. Seems prices are holding up now that the crunch of April is over. Anyone know when dealers will start taking new inventory?

I got the same treatment at Toyota of Seattle on a similar build (TRD OR MT w/ only LED). Toyota of Tacoma quoted me 32.5k ("costco price") on the same config in a different color, and Toyota of Puyallup price matched the 32.5k on the _same exact_ truck that Toyota of Seattle wouldn't budge on. They were going to just dealership transfer from Toyota of Seattle and sell it to me for 4k less than Seattle wanted.

If you're a Costco member I'd recommend hitting up Toyota of Tacoma, they were easily the most competitive on price. Sales process at Toyota of Puyallup was pretty decent, but even they quoted a "costco price" that was 2k higher than Toyota of Tacoma. If the Tacoma guys were more responsive about getting me the color I wanted, I would have ended up buying there I think.

As an aside, Toyota of Seattle told me they're a "no haggle" dealership so the price is what it is. Crazy that the "no haggle" price is ~4k higher than what other dealerships are willing to deal on.

Awesome, yea I'll see if they can transfer it, cause I'd like a base spec. Speaking of dealers in the area, I-5 Toyota basically just gave me the same out-the-door price on a truck with a 3k higher MSRP. I haven't dealt with Toyota of Tacoma yet, but I'll reach out. Yea the Seattle dealer gave me the whole "no haggle" pitch and I can't stand when dealers do that, it's just to stonewall negotiation on your end, especially in the era of online research. I was still baffled when they were like "fine, walk" on a truck that isn't exactly a spec that people are lining up for.

Same thing when I bought my truck, one dealer wouldn't budge, the other dealer sells me the very exact truck for 2500 less and does a dealer trade. It was cool when the nonbudgers called me back up and I said yep got the one you had on your lot.

I'm hoping to close a deal on Sat in NJ. DCSB OR Black with Tech and Premium. I could not find an OR SB with LED with or without tech. The only Cements with LEDS were Sports. I almost went sport but came upon this deal.

Just an update to my original post. Ended up reaching out to another dealer I'd worked with before (I-5 Toyota) and they gave me a price of $35,161 on a TRD OR 6MT with an MSRP of $40,229. Out the door, with the $500 student rebate, it's looking like $40,220. I just offered $39k all-in, told them I'd drive down tomorrow, and am waiting to hear back. It's wishful thinking to get another grand off at this point, but I figure it's not too ridiculous where it would undermine me. Here's hoping!

Edit: Got them to $39.2k out the door. Really happy with that and not trying to sour anything over 200 bucks.
