I called them and although they said install shop is open, they said they don’t install customer provided parts and referred me to Auburn OffRoad for CMC.

I’m looking for a good place to mount up my Incoming King Shocks, Icon minipack, and possibly the CMC. But am super paranoid about some amateur throwing some slaggy crap beads for welds. Lol

4WP in Tacoma said they can do it but I’m not sure about the quality. Lol

this is kind of a bummer, it was something they used to offer, but at a higher shop labor rate. I saw on IG that they were installing a Carli Pintop on a Ford Super Duty. I can only imagine what kind of markup is added, unless Mule is getting dealer pricing from Carli. The "full meal deal" Carli Pintop on Carli's website is $8,840......:eek::eek::eek::censored:

NOTE: not bashing on Mule, their business their rules, and they are free to run things as they want.

I can help with the installation of the suspension. We currently don't do any fab work so we wouldn't be able to do the CMC. We refer everyone to Auburn 4x4 for CMC.

You can just make the cut now and worry about having a plate welded on there later. Lots of people actually don’t even weld it up

I've become too predictable. It's like everyone knows what I'm going do, even before I do it. :anonymous:

I thought there was a group/thread somewhere that there were resources available for those who were interested in tuning the 3vz platform, but there wasn't any canned options. Basically at your own risk, here's the freeware, you need "x" cable, here's a wikiHow/great source of information and "John doe" can answer any questions you may have, and steer you in the right direction. I want to say it was something OVTune had started but gave up on as a product when the 3rd gen tuning blew up. And that era ecu is completely different than anything Toyota has used in their vehicles since ~04/05.

I'm sorry! Work is kicking my ass right now.

He's seen my welding already! :D

What is the setup you're going to? Depending on tire size and wheel offset I find that a good portion of CMCs really aren't necessary. Usually the rubbing is on plastic parts that you can trim with a sawzall or tough scissors. 35s are obviously an exception, as are wider offsets with 33s.

I'll second Jim's qualifications to complete a cmc and not butcher it.

I asked a few but they knew nothing about it. I've seen talk about it here and on Facebook about 3rd gen owners receiving the notice.

And still nothing for the 4Runner owners that are dealing with the same frame issues since 2003/04. So far Toyota has acknowledged there is an issue with all of their suv/truck frames, except the FJ, built after 2003 and ending differently on each platform on the Sequoia, Tundra, and the Tacoma.

I know the FJ and the 4runner are manufactured overseas in Japan, so that may have something to do with it. The others are mostly manufactured, but 100% assembled in the USA iirc.

Well, never thought I'd do it, but I ordered a body lift today. But only 1”. It was that or completely butcher my tranny tunnel to accommodate the tcase shifter. It's tighter than a nuns you know what in there.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
I got one in the mail also. I'll put it in with the owner's manual and probably forget about it in a couple of months.
