going to try this question on this forum- pictured is a set rock sliders for a long bed double cab. I am thinking that this is a simple design that one might be able to shorten for a short bed double cab. anyone savvy on the frame/mounting difference between the two lengths of frame.

Take some measurements on your frame and see where you can mount those brackets. Cut off whichever end you need to to make them fit.
I’d be more worried that there’s only 2 mounting points to the frame. And the tube from bracket to slider look small.

these are apparently rocky road outfitters brand the picture is from a market place ad so I dont have ready access to them. I was thinking of buying them and taking a run at making them shorter and welding kickouts on them. but you bring up apoint making me wonder if that 2nd parallel steel is mounted to the seam weld on the cab? maybe someone has seen this brand?

If you know how to weld, make some yourself. I’m sure you can make some beefier than those. Plus they are all straight tube with no bends. Just need a chop saw or porta band and a welder. You got this.

toying with DIY but my weld skills are lame- if I could get the base part/frame mounting done-it would make the project easier.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
They are by far the worst designed sliders on the market for a Tacoma. They weld to the frame with two tiny 1" sticks of tube, and bolt to the pinch weld of the body on a vehicle sitting on rubber body mounts . If I were you I would buy from a vendor here on TW you will get a much better product.

Well that's one very easy way to make the truck loud and obnoxious.

If you have a welder and some tube or square stock you can make a very nice set of sliders.
