    If it’s a 5 lug it’s a minivan with a bed.

    Don’t buy a 5 lug Truck!!!

2wd 4 cylinder manual tranny 6 lug is the bare minimum.

if theyre essentially the same as far as specs/features, I'd go 2014 for less miles.

You probably should let him choose. Would suck if you chose the wrong one

but 4cyl is no bueno.... no no bueno. You will regret it 100%

I’d say hurry up and make a decision FAST because that’s a smoking deal for either one and they’ll sell quick. I’ve never once even come across those years with that low of mileage (in my area), so I’m sure there’s a few people nutting all over themselves ready to scoop those up.

edit: just noticed you mentioned 4 banger hence the price, Nevermind on the above over-reaction Lol.

IMO, 2014 for sure given half the mileage, old man driving, and impeccable service records. And to anyone saying “no no no on 2.7” just shooosh. They’re both 2wd so clearly he’s probably not going to be off-roading and it’ll weigh less than it’s 4x4 v6 counterpart.

4 banger is very under powered with an empty bed. Imagine how bad it’d be actually carrying anything.

I’ve never met anyone with a 6 cyl say “man, I wish my truck wasn’t so powerful”

You are a special woman to do this for your hubby. Wow, what a great surprise it will be. I bought my 2007 4x4 quadcab with 138,000 for $17,000. Of course it had numerous upgrades. After market fender flairs and grill. Custom made heavy duty rear bumper, 6" lift, 34" tires, all upgraded LED lights, good maintenance records, and in beautiful shape. But still...it was $17K (talked him down from $18,000) for a 2007.
I searched all over the country for what I was looking for and everytime I called about one it was sold.

The only thing I would recommend is to do a carfax on the vehicles and make sure they didn't come from the rust belt or weren't in a major accident. The dealer may provide a carfax for free.
I found one in GA that i fell in love with was beautiful and had everything I wanted. However after having the guy send me pics of the underside the frame was rusted to hell. Did a carfax and the dealer had bought it from the rust belt where it had spent its whole life.

No ones saying it isn’t underpowered. What those of us with the 2.7 do understand though, is that it isn’t THAT bad, especially with a MT. Just took ~400lbs of rock up to Reno over the summit - literally didn’t feel much different than an empty bed, which surprised me a little. I’ll take underpowered and overbuilt any day unless a low mileage 4.0 magically presented itself.

But if I wanted to tow shit, I’d get a full size truck - the v6 is still a joke in that department.

First of all, YOU are a keeper!! I have had my 2012 bought new after we traded in our 2005 (exact same truck) for 8 years now and it is perfect. Between the 2 trucks, I would get the 2014 before someone else does! No question. Good luck and tell hubby Happy Birthday!
