Just a bunch of old crap
Ah, I was assuming you had just a bed rack for both tent and awning. My bad. I forget that you lucky devils with your double cabs can do a roof rack as well.

I attach my awning to Thule bars that carry my kayak. You can run these on an access cab.

i love my Ruggedized version. I want to add a latex mattress topper as it is a little too firm for me. I have a dual battery system and an always-on power distribution block in the bed side so I have lights in the tent, as well as a low amp electric heating blanket for REALLY cold nights and a small fan for hot ones. Been down to 10 degrees in it with this setup and we were comfortable all night.

This will be my first summer with a rooftop tent. Besides sleeping in the mountains and picking cool nights, what do you guys do to stay cooler?

Thought about finding a battery powered fan to hang from the top of the tent, but wasn't sure if others had tried that and it failed for any reason.

    Thanks!

I bought one of these and have a deep cycle battery in the bed to run it, lights and phone charger. 3 speed and on high it moves serious air.

Do you hang it from the roof of your freespirit or does it work fine on tent bed level?

The charger is a little weird, in the fact that i have to push the wire a certain way for it to start charging. But other than that, yes. It hangs, clamps, and has 4 speeds. Fit everything that I was looking for.

Anyone using the Tepui Anti-Condensation Mat? Does it actually help? Is it more gimmick? Worth the splurge or are there other fixes to address the condensation I'm finding under my mattress? Thanks!

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
I did it last spring. Was really great. Would definitely do it again.
